2009 328i x drive issues

So today, was driving and all the sudden at a light my RPMs started sputtering, from 100-2k, and wouldn't accelerate from the stop light. No limp mode, nothing. Turned off the car, and turned it back on and same thing. Had to be towed to dealership.
Car only has 40k miles

Any ideas what it could be? They won't get to it until Monday

On the + side, got a new 2013 328i coupe loaner, might have found my next car.

What lights did you get on the dash when all this happened?

I got a 2013 328i loaner the other day and thought it was way too tech for its own good. The start/stop feature is a bit wonky.

You'd buy another after that and all the sh*& that is on here?

Why wouldn't I buy another? I believe there was the yellow engine that came up on my dash
