Lacquer for wheel repair

Hi- I recently repaired some curb rash and followed the excellent the directions on this site. However, the lacquer (obtained from Griot's garage) is not as glossy compared to the original. I polished and waxed the area afterwards, but it still doesn't compare. Is this normal? I can live with it, but was just wondering if I did something wrong.

Thanks
