I have been running the B8's on HR springs courtesy Turner Motorsports for about 3 months now. Also had the front control arms replaced (stock). The car lowered about 3/4 of an inch.
Significantly less body roll. Much more stable at highway speeds. People familiar with Ocean Parkway on the South Shore of Long Island know the section where there are undulations of the surface that can induce loss of contact/control as speed goes up and the suspension cannot keep up with the cyclical frequency. (Very scary the first time I encountered it). With the Bilsteins/HR's the car hugs these undulations much better. It's not a plush ride by any means, but there is much better control. It's the same at lower speeds. NOT a cushy ride, but acceptable in terms of not bottoming out on the stops. Still a fair bit of understeer, but I suspect that is more related to tire choice, alignment. etc. |

Will the inserts increase the ride height? I am hesitating on the M3 subframe bushings because of the costs and fact I wont notice much difference since I do highway miles mostly or crawl though towns. Its an oil burner so no tracking

I had now for about 2 weeks with the new Bilstein B8 paired with the sport springs. At the same time the car got M3 subframe bushings, M3 front control arms, new tie rods.
I absolutely love the setup, its definetly harsher than the sport shocks but I believe thats due to M3 subframe bushings that transmit road feedback through the seat. Gone is that bounce on the highway or body roll, car handles very flat and doesnt crash at every pothole. I really recommend this setup for those who are replacing the stock sport shocks. Ride height is the same as before. |

Lower center of gravity = better handling. Plus the car looks sleeker. |

Of all the factors that make a difference as it relates to "handling" on this platform, I'd say center of gravity probably comes in last. Dampers, spring rate, bushing stiffness, etc. will all make more of a noticeable difference.
If you're gonna drop the car, at least pick a set of springs with a respectable spring rate. |

I am satisfied with the lowering provided by the sport springs+ I live in an area with preety steep kerbs and did not want to install lower springs for that reason.
I think the sport springs do a preety good job paired with the B8, very well damped. |

As I'm currently researching suspension upgrades for my E92 335i, I find this thread and the various opinions very interesting.
What I don't see mentioned is tires, and how those can effect ride and handling perceptions. So, you can have 2 people, with the same car and the same suspension with 2 different tire types experience 2 different characteristics. RFTs typically ride stiffer, and I believe is likely what most are riding on. Some have replaced with non RFTs. Not to mention the differing comfort and handling characteristics of either tire types regardless of RFTs or non RFTs between various brand/model tires. 17, 18, 19...side wall height, side wall compliance, stretch... There's so much more involved, and necessary additional information needed to judge one aspect of the suspension like shocks/struts compared to the same shock/strut setup on someone else's car. To take that further, what condition are the remaining suspension and steering components in? Alignment...in spec, some altered numbers from OEM? Then of course there's the simple fact that 2 different people will have a different opinion of an identical item, it comes down to being human and that we don't all experience the same things in the same way. |

i`m using on my 335 only SPORT bilstein for front axles and rear -
Shock Absorber Front Axle Right, Gas Pressure, Suspension Strut BILSTEIN https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car...brand%5B%5D=16 Using it for the mileage is already 20 000 km and until they fail, there is no squeak and they work smoothly. After it want to find something pneumatic absorbes but i didn`t know Bilstein have something like that? |

I love my B8's that I paired with the factory M-sport springs. It's a nice combo although I wish the back was a tad more firm...

Non M sport dont have sport springs. Sport springs are shorter and stiffer.
I had the M sport suspension prior to install B8, I kept my springs and pair them with the Bilsteins. I recommend this setup. |

My 330i has the Bilstein B8s with Dinan springs. Great setup for a daily driver. It isn't too low, so no worries about scraping.
Added bonus: the car's lowering is within a proper spec, so the suspension components actually work within their correct geometry. I ordered the compete, pre-built kit from Chris at Strutmonkey. It was a super easy transaction and he had it shipped quickly.

Installed B8 in the rear of my E91 today.
I'm running a H&R coilover setup on the car, one of the rear shocks started leaking due to a damaged dust cover. One new H&R shock absorber cost the same as a pair of Bilstein B8, so I decided to replace both rear shocks with B8. The car feels great after replacing the shocks. I suspect that H&R and B8 has similar specs, because it felt like when the coilover kit was new. I'm considering if I should buy a set of B8 shocks for my 1-series too.
