Advice needed on BMW service

Hi all,

So I had my e90 serviced last week and had asked them to look into this squeaking noise I had whenever i locked the steering. Having inspected it they said they just needed to lubricate the thing and that should solve the problem. They charged me 170 for it but i find the problem still persists, im going to take the car back to them but I was curious where i would stand if they say its actually something else.

I mean i paid them already thinking they would solve the problem but if it turns out to be something else would they charge me for the new work they do? I was hoping someone may have had a similar issue regarding work that didnt fix the problem in their car and how it transpired.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is that 170 pound for your service or for stopping the noise? If it is for service then it sounds about right.

Wow, that is crazy. 170 pounds for stopping it squealing and yet no success! You have a right to go back and complain and get them to try again , this time free of charge!

But what if they find its another fault would i be expected to pay? I just feel if they were sure they would fix the problem first time round i shouldnt be required to pay if they made a wrong call.

Its like they could continue to charge me to fix the problem until its fixed!
