Dash cam install
I have a 2008 e90 M3 Sedan. On my previous car, I was able to have the dash cam power up only when the ignition switch was on and turned off as soon as I powered the car off. I tried the cigarette lighter fuse but seems like that always has a constant 12V. Is there something that completely powers down when the ignition is off? Fuse #? Amp?
I’ve tried the homelink fuse, number 63, after reading a few threads. Somehow my dash cam powers up right away. And does not power down unless I hit power on the cam. Can someone direct me to which fuse to tap into to obtain my results? Thank you in advance Last edited by E46tknv; 10-23-2018 at 05:37 PM.. |

I thought all E9xs had the cigarette lighter only with ignition on. Time to a test a few circuits.

I personally have my blackvue with parking mode setup using the cigarette lighter fuse (acc) and the alarm fuse (constant 12v)
There is a random nut on the left of the fuse box for a ground. |

I have my dashcam wired to the flashlight plug for power- powers on when the car is unlocked, and turns off about 15 mins after the car is locked.
