No audio on 2011 328i

My car was parked outside for a while and it rained heavily for few days. After that my car audio stopped working. I don't hear any sounds including seat belt alarms etc. I see the stations and volume bar on the console but no audio. Some times (once a month or so)the radio would start working by itself for few minutes and then turns turns off. I went to dealer and they said the amplifier is bad as it got water damage. some how water accumulated in the area where the amp is located. Dealer is asking for about 1.8K for fixing this and additional 500 for fixing water issue.

I would like to DIY if possible. If I just replace the amp will it work? I wonder why the seat belt alarms and other bells not working. I want to make sure to get some feedback before buying an amp. Also where do I get it from? Any recommended site?

I am thinking to drill a hole to fix the standing water issue in the amp area so water will drain down.

This happens a lot.
Clogged Moonroof Drains , leaky trunk seals or rear light seals
are usually the problem. Point is the regular drain is probably
clogged.
Some people have been to recover there amp by disassembly
and drying it out.
You can usually get a used amp on ebay or the buy and sell
here for under 500.

The seat belt and other alarms come through the amp even if you turn the radio or idrive off it's not really off the display is just off the amp is still on.

If you can match the part number for the amp
The newer logic 7 amps toward the end of the e90 series
have different firmware . People have had to update
them to get them to work.

You need to establish if you have Logic 7 or Hi Fi amp from the price of the repair I would think it would be Logic 7
