So I did the retrofit in my 2006 330xi pre-wired-- got the overhead console, TCU and other parts installed. Moved the MOST wired per instructions (and got the "SOS Failure" message).
When I went to my mechanic, he had a BMW guy come over. Said he could not even talk to the TCU and Progmon would not allow him to do the retrofit with the software. In case I phucked up the MOST fiber-optic wiring, is there a simple way to tell if the connections are good or do I need to get a buddy with a flashlight and trace each wire? Is there a simple test to see if the TCU is good or not?

Does anybody know how much BMW charges to install a bluetooth kit? I want to be able to hook up my phone to the car's stereo and talk. I also want to see my contacts show on the radio screen.

bringing this back from the grave.
i'm trying to install the bluetooth in my 6/2005, which is sold as a 2006 model. I have the module for the trunk and my car is pre-wired as well along with prewired for CD Changer, and Sirus Satellite radio. So I hooked up the antenna that goes under the driver's side and the microphone that is in the dome light. Now that I go to hook up the box in the trunk I see 4 colors on the box, blue, white, black and purple. I have only 3 wires in my trunk, white, purple and black.... no blue. Is my car missing it? Or do I need a specific module for my production year? Is the Blue wire for something I don't need? I don't have the phone charging deck in the middle console either. BTW, my e90 has the CCC navigation. Am I okay with the 3 wires I have hooked up? Or am I missing something? (damn BMW, why can't they just make it easy for us DIY'ers) |

Hi everyone. I know that this subject has been discussed to death, but i will ask it one more time just to be certain.
I am in Canada and I have a 2009 328i xdrive with no idrive. I just have the BMW Professional radio. When i bought the car a few years ago, the dealer was adamant that i cannot have bluetooth (for calling) without idrive. Now I see that it is possible to have it. So here lies my question; are ALL e90 in the U.S. and Canada pre-wired for bluetooth? If so, how does one check for certain? I already have the MULF in the trunk which is the most expensive part of the setup, but it still doesn't mean that the rest of the wiring is there. Thanks for the feedback |

you need to check your options list via VIN decoding
you'll see if you have bluetooth preparation otherwise, because you already have MULF2HIGH for USB Audio, you only need two wires and mic and bluetooth antenna, or bluetooth antenna integrated with wire from E70
