What does M sport actually mean?

I've seen some are like "sport package". Was very curious if they're were any differences between a M sport and a non M sport.

In the US the cars don't come with the extra cooling package the m sport does. Cars that came to Aus though had that as standard. The suspension isn't just lower it also has stiffer dampers. MSport also has the slightly better seats. But I think the list above has everything else

I'll add some of that to my post, I think the extra oil cooler we get is a hot weather package rather than m sport

Googled it and there is indeed two different versions of oil cooler.
Post 22 explains http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=690543

I have m sport and it's the top one.

Means BMW will slap some sportier looking plastic panels on your car, raise your speed limiter, slap a bunch of Ms, and then secretly laugh at you for how easy it is to separate you from your money.

Exactly! Only BMW can make idiots pay Thousands of extra dollars for Sport Package Options and Trim on a car that is already supposed to be a SPORTS SEDAN!

That is why I get my BMWs used to avoid paying all that extra for stuff that should come standard!

It is like buying an ice cream cone and paying extra for an ice cream scoop package!

Can you imagine if BMW sold ice cream cones:

"Here ya go kid! That will be $5 for your ice cream cone!"

"But sir it is just an empty waffle cone?!"

"Oh you want the ice cream package? well that will cost you extra. How many scoops do you want in your cone..."

Perhaps they'll revive the Mini Cooper based Ice Cream Truck:

Only they'll call it the

Here is the listed options M sport package .. IMO, visually the front and rear bumpers does make the car look sportier especially with 19' .. Plus having the M steering wheel and sport seats feels great in your hands and back! I just want to add

I did a quick search on Autotrader and Cars.com and came up with 2 6 speed manuals xDrive Sedans for sale (2011 and 2010) out of 65.

It should be noted that M Sport's usually fetch more in the aftermarket too, especially with a MT.

Yes it was hence why not many people took this option for the xDrive 6 speed manual .. I purchased this car last year from the original owner (doctor). On top of the price he added Dinan S3 - Dinan CAI / Free Flow Exhaust / Stage 3 Software / High Capacity Oil Cooler / Lightweight Flywheel / Stage 3 Suspension / Pedal Set / CF Strut Tower / AR Design Catless Downpipe / BMW 313 19" Wheels ! Probable add another $15K. Must be nice to have that kind of money!

Nice to know when it's time to sell .. I think MT is very rare especially for xDrive.
