I have a few of those too. I just remembered, the tabs on the e46 tool kit slide into a slit in the carpet and I believe the screws screw into the tool kit tabs instead of the actual trunk. I have a set of black fabric screws. They’re from an e60, which is the tool kit I was originally going to use because that one has the integrated first aid kit. The e60 tool box is too big for the e90 trunk though. I ended up getting a first aid kit from a newer Jetta with the Velcro backing that sticks to the side carpet panels in the trunk. I had the gray e46 screws to match my carpet, but they’re so tiny they have been misplaced.

I went for a drive around the city looking for a good spot to take some photos of the car now that it's had a proper wash. Here are just a few. Wha' da ya think?

I drilled out and replaced one of my three snapped valve cover bolts. Can't get a drill onto the other two straight unless I remove the valve cover, too time consuming for now.

I changed out the engine and cabin air filters. Surprised how much cooler the oil is running now. Only had been about 30k miles on the engine filter.

Finished buttoning up the CCV system replacement and DISA rebuild, reset DME adaptations too.
Car pulls harder for sure now and the oil actually heats up now. Before it was fairly sluggish in the top end (big DISA was completely busted) and it took like 20 minutes of driving (AVG 35mph) before it was warmed up. Now it takes like 5-7 minutes. Also cleaned up the engine bay and wiped down the interior

Re did the lower portion of the tool kit mount point.
Looks ok. Also pics of other random things added to the trunk from other cars, lol. Storage bag tucked in the back holding jumper cables and a tarp incase I put something dirty in the trunk. Jetta first aid kit Audi grocery bag hooks Mercedes spare cargo nets and a Toyota net that hangs from the top that usually holds my hat.

Those Audi grocery hooks are amazing. I love mine, looks like OEM too!
Went to mexico earlier, raced my friend with an 07 328xi (mine is an 06 330xi with xdelete RWD). Was surprised that I pulled half a car length ahead of him on a 30 roll and multiple lengths on a dig

Finally bit the bullet and paid for BimmerCode. Had a little go at changing a few things on the 320d. Seems all good so far.

On that point, I have the three stage manifold and I removed the DISA next to the power steering reservoir to check it at the weekend. Seemed OK, no play at all. It was in the open position with the engine off, is that correct?

The valves are supposed to be open when the engine is off. Though there's a chance they can end up closed when off if you turned off the engine while at 3500 or something.

I considered those for my e92 I think they were out of a z3 but thought they'd look a bit small on it. With some spacers they're nice on yours

A few days ago I found a real estate agent's business card under the front seat of the car I bought in July while I was cleaning the interior. Today I sent her an email hoping that she might have some connection to the car or the previous owner so I might be able to get some history of the car. It turns out that it was her husbands car. What luck! This is important as I bought the car on-line from a BMW dealer over 2k kms away having never heard it run and, in fact, I only saw three photos of it. One from the passengers side, one from the rear and one through the passengers open door. The dealer didn't have, or wasn't willing/able to share, any service history. I now have the owner sending me all the cars history. What a lucky find!
