Fender Bender (my fault) Cost Estimate?
I feel bad, the first thing I hit in 165,000 miles, and right after I make fun of my brother for backing into another car who was also backing out, karma.
Driver in front of me starts to turn right from a stop sign then suddenly decides not to and hits her brakes.......... I hit the back of her car (a jeep) and caught her trailer hitch in the middle of my hood. Just a few scuffs on her bumper, no broken clips, but my car sustained a bit more damage...... Estimates on what this should be to fix? I'm thinking new hood and bumper, headlight looks ok just a small scuff (probably will polish out), no broken mount or cracked housing. Thoughts? Damn, sorry to hear that. Happens to all of us, though. Hope it all goes easily!
Oh and it could have always been worse

The hood doesn't look like it needs replacing to me (on Nexus 7) but you'll be able to get a more sporty front bumper now.
I believe your headlights will also be okay. Just check & see if any moisture builds up in the next few days. 165k miles is an accomplishment though, congratulations! |

It's definitely going to need the bumper and hood. Hood is pretty badly bent at the front edge and has a ripple half way back on the passengers side. Talked to one shop in the area that came highly recommend, he said he is writing the estimate for all new genuine BMW parts (hood and bumper). I didn't tell him it was going to be a claim (even though it will be) haven't got the yet, should get it tomorrow.

Time for an LCI upgrade. New bumper and hood will likely be needed anyway. I would look into.

Passenger headlight: $259 https://www.oembimmerparts.com/BMW-E...ShoppingEngine
Front bumper - Painted $295 http://www.ebay.com/itm/252100850695...695%26_rdc%3D1 Radiator support - $270 https://www.ecstuning.com/ES127120/?...KL1hoCYEzw_wcB And an e90 hood in carbon fiber (which will be cheaper then buying and painting) - $864 http://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-2008-Ca...p=mtr#viTabs_0 That all adds up to less then $1,700, and DIY shouldn't be to hard but if for some reason you don't want to do it, a shop wouldn't charge more then 3-400 to get all these parts on for you as it's a fairly easy process.
