Hi guys, I'm just wondering what setup people have with the Dinan catback exhaust, and whether they're happy with it.

Which downpipes? Catted or not? Do you still have the secondary cats? Any resonators? Any rasp?

Manual or automatic?

This question is only for E92 with N54, as other setups sound very different.

Thanks a lot,
Ron

I did. The only thing I could find is BQ Tuning that had an automatic. Usually rasp is not present in automatics.

Dinan Exhaust with non cat downpipes, everything else stock on the exhaust. I really don't like it. 07 e92 with Manual Transmission. I get rasp and to me it sounds rice. It wasn't too bad before the downpipes, decent sound but very tame. Now its a little louder but with rasp and a lil drone.

When do you get rasp?

Which gears? What RPM range?

I have Cobb Catted downpipes, vibrant resonators in place of secondary cats. Dinan exhaust.

I don't hear any rasp or drone.

But I feel that the resonators are cancelling some of the characteristics of the Dinan exhaust. I barely hear any burbles. It's nice, but it's mostly one tone.

I'm trying to find out if it's a good idea to put the secondary cats back in place. I'm worried about the first gear rasp.

Uh, really? Everyone told me removing second cats and putting vibrant reso will make the pops and burple much more.

Maybe because you don't have catless DPs.

No idea. Also not a big fan of the smell.

Nope... When I had the IS exhaust with same setup, I could hear the rasp loud and clear. The Dinans removed the rasp.

Edit: I think it's a combination of Catted downpipes and dinan exhaust that removed the rasp.

My friend has a non IS N54 and he added mhd burples like me and his are much much less loud because he still has stock DPs.

It is probably a mix, although your DPs should be less restrictive right than OEM cats?

That's surprising.

People with catless DPs, resonators instead of cats usually say they have zero rasp.

They don't have the IS muffler.

Also, some people have automatic transmission, and they don't hear it as much.

Well one guy with IS say he don't have rasp. Other people with IS including myself are about to 2nd cat delete to.

But yeah the guy said he had DCT. I guess I will see soon since I'm about to do it in the next 2 weeks.

What's your setup now, and what are you going to do exactly?

Also, is your car manual?

Now I have VRSF catless DPs. Other "mod" you can say is I unplugged valve so it is always open in the muffler.

It is very raspy around 5k RPM so I wanted to replace second cats with resonators.

Yes I'm manual.

Assuming you have a manual... It won't fix your problem, and you'll have very stinky exhaust fumes.

If I were to do it again with my IS, I would have gotten resonated downpipes, and left everything after stock.

Hmm guess I'll see. Some people with PE mod said this fixed their rasp as well.

At least with my resonators my pops will be louder. Rasp is not bugging me a huge lot.

I might do full straight exhaust in the muffler box then to if it doesn't fix.
