Anyone painting his stock brake calipers?
Just thinking of refinishing my stock brake calipers.
It has some rust on it. Should I repaint it to black? or red? lol I saw another thread saying Simple Tire will do it. Any reviews? or other suggestions? And pics? My e90 is SBM, red seems a good match. but will it looks rice? with a stock brake? lol |

Simply Tire painted the calipers on my last car. They did a solid job and even put a clear coat on. Price was reasonable if I recall correctly.
I'm terms of colours, get whatever you like most. Personally I'm not a fan of any colour on a stock caliper that make them stand out, so I always go with silver or black. |

They don't remove the calipers. They'll grind the corrosion off then paint them. If you do your own brake jobs you'll probably notice that they don't fully paint the back of the caliper due to the fact that it's still installed on the car while it's being painted.

hmm...
I wanna paint the whole brake. I do this more for protection than making my brake stand out. Most likely I will paint it black. Any other store would do it? i saw so many posts on Kijiji Or i should wait till when i need to flush my brake fluid? Last edited by armansiu; 04-06-2016 at 01:59 PM.. |

Also going to simply tire in couple weeks to get my calipers painted . I believe they charge around $120 bucks or so . I'm thinking of either going with silver or black given they are stock. What do yall think will look better between the 2 colors on a le mans blue e90 with gunmetal rims

When I rebuilt my rear suspension I decided to rebuild my brakes too. While I had everything off and taken apart I took the time to get the calipers sandblasted. I had previously tried to do a DIY job with angle grinders and wire brushes but after 1/2 seasons the rust came right through. Simply tire does a good job but in a few seasons the rust will come through. Clearly the sand blasting route is more difficult but it is the only way to ensure they will last for years to come.
