E46 120-150 miles per tank

Hey boys,

I’m not a member on any E46 forum and generally speaking, wouldn’t need to be, because my E46 has always been very reliable for my wife as her daily driver.

I was getting a fuel related code (don’t remember which exactly... P0440 or P0456 or something. Replaced the breather valve part# 13901433603 and cleared the code. Check engine light hasn’t come back, however, she will sometimes get 450 miles to a tank and sometimes get as low as 120 to a FULL tank!

Any big bright red warning signs I’m missing here? Injectors? Fuel regulator? No check engine light right now but I’m going to have her take my E90 to work tomorrow and I’m gonna scan and see what comes up. Could there be a bunch of fuel in the oil from all of this dumping? Is that a concern I should have?
