Valve Cover Gasket and Oil Filter Housing Gasket Leaking :(

Just got a oil change from Mt Laurel BMW, went in for a $80 oil change and walked out with a $1500+ service required receipt. Don't know what to do. I looked on these forums and people said the parts run you under $150. Anyone know how hard the DIY is or if anyone is in the NJ/NY/PA area that is willing to do it for me for cheaper. Let me know, Thanks.

Im in cherry hill nj. I have someone over here near me doing it for $600 for both from a local indy. I called him, he's owns his own garage and works on valve gaskets and oil filters all the time. Was looking for someone to do it cheaper.

@Montegoo_NYC How much just for the valve cover? I am probably going to do the oil housing gasket by myself. Seems easy.

Oil housing is super super easy to do. Will take about hour if you have never done it before. The valve cover is a little tricky but not impossible. That's took me 5 hours but I'm super picky and went really slow while I read the dyi on here. Id say anywhere from 300-600 is fair for valve cover gaskets.

Yeah especially if you have a garage. Guide helps a lot

If your familiar with the engine bay then it's not difficult at all

Just make sure to be very organized and patient

You local to CHI? I'm actually moving out there in a week and was looking to attempt to do this myself on a 2009 E92 N52. I'd be more than willing to pay decent money to have someone who knows what they're doing get it done.

Any interest?

I just completed the DIY on my N52 E90. It wasn't too bad. It took me about 12 hours on my first attempt and ~$200 in parts to replace the air filter, oil filter housing gasket, coolant flange, coolant, serpentine belt, idler pulley, and some other small items. The 12 hours was also included a very deep clean since I had so many parts removed. This was my first time doing a real engine repair and I can say it wasn't so bad.
