Got a new Macbook, question!

My old macbook died on me so I got a new one but how do I get all of my songs and pictures onto this new one? They're all on my iphone and I thought when I plugged it into my new computer it'd transfer it all on there but no such thing happened. What do I do?

Anyway to salvage your old macbook hard-drive? As for transferring from phone to computer, I'm not exactly sure.

I'm not sure there is a way without using a paid program and this is exactly where Itunes completely fails. (fail is not even a strong enough word for it).

With a quick google search i found this thread giving a lot of links to paid programs that you could try the trial version of (or get a cracked copy): http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum...ter-10737.html

Apple's site shows a way to do it with the iPod, but i believe it does not work with the iPhone. You can give it a try anyways: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1329

How dead is your old macbook? If you can power it up and get into the target disk mode, you can get all the files off of it, as it was an external hard drive, but as far as i remember, regular MacBooks lack a firewire port, so target disk mode wont work.

You can try pulling the hard drive from the old macbook and hooking it up to the new one. But you will either need a USB enclosure that does SATA or one of those external SATA adapter thingies.

+1

1. remove battery

2. remove 3 screws from metal plate covering the hard drive and ram

3. remove plate and get hard drive out

4. best buy trip (buy 2.5" sata enclosure)

5. install macbook's hard drive onto enclosure

6. plug enclosure to new macbook with provided usb cable

7. good luck figuring out how to organize your stuff from old drive onto new system.

8. if you where in miami i would do it for ya for $100 fee

9. extra step, take the old computer to an apple store and they'll do if for $99

hope this helps
