His prices??? WTH, That has to be the most ignorant post I've seen this year. For what you paid on the BSW you could have gotten some nice Rainbows.

Still undecided. Kfest, SEMA and CES are all in the plans. CES is Always a definite, but the others ... never know.

I'm trying to swing KFest this year. If nothing else, just to see everyone again. CES was a very quick trip for me this year. 48 hour turnaround.

we had meetings all day Tuesday, went out with Louis and Chris from Autopage that night, after meeting up with Ray, the EM people, and SMD people at the Heart Bar, then meetings all day Wednesday (all while still drunk from the night/morning. we didn't get in until 7am) then caught a flight home at 6pm. It was a quick one.

Nothing like the $400-$600/pr for other speakers - not everyone is interested in putting thousands into a stereo system in a dd car that they are going to trade in in a couple years. Glad I made you 'Most Ignorant Post of the Year' As if I care what you think...

spmd11 -- Thanks for the wonderful review.
I was thinking about buying a dynavin when i saw your review. I went ahead and bought 6990 and got it installed by a professional. Unit as is, is marvellous. touchscreen is perfect and fasttt..GPS is quick and instantaneous. I installed a rear camera and it is just how it should be. I will try to post some pics from my car. I have few minor things that needs help from you. 1. As i turn on ignition, my unit gets powered and everytime it pops up Initial Setup screen. this is very frustrating. i need to scroll to the bottom and click on Finish and then the Main menu comes on. Also all the previous settings were lost. This happens everytime. I am sure there should be some setting to avoid this, but i am not able to figure it out. can you please help me?? 2. The unit takes about 20 sec to boot up and main menu to load. Until the unit turns on completely,i cannot use my rear camera. After the unit completely turned on, then when i put the car in reverse, rear camera view comes up. So everytime i need to wait for about 20 sec after i turn on ignition to actually start driving.(or to take my car out of parking). This is kind of annoying. But i assume that i have to live with it. fuse. Your installer needs to find the correct fuse that will not let yOur Kenwood go to sleep when the power is off the car 2. This is not true for me. I don't need the Kenwood to load before I get rear view camera. My camera is ready instantly while Kenwood is loading. I'll check with my installer in how they did this and I'll check on the fuse for you.

I became greedy and got myself into a soup.
I saw that some new firmware update is available for DNX6990HD, so i downloaded it and tried to update my unit. The update failed in the middle(not sure why). And now the unit is stuck at same point. It powers up with the update screen and asks me to insert USB for continuing update. If i insert the the USB, the update still fails. So its stuck at that point permanently. I could not recover it. There is no going back or forth. What can i do now? unit has become completely uselss. |

I MAY be able to help, but it won't be free. I'll have to send it out. Message me, and I'll see what I can do.

This unit looks awesome. I've been looking at the dynavin, but had my doubts about a few things especially the price tag. It's a lot of money to spend on not a very well known brand. The kenwood on the other hand does look like the real deal.
Another good thing is if I go to this I now have done lovely RCA outputs and a flat EQ

Whoever made that dash kit for you did a decent job for you. The top left corner sticks out just a tad, but, other than that, the fitment, and shape, look very good.

I think it flows better there. The dash narrows from top to bottom, and the edges of the controls are wider than the DNX, so it flows better. Opening the unit shouldn't be an issue, it looks as though there is plenty of room, even with the selector in Park.
That looks like someone who has pride in their work did it.
