Offset help

I bought some DPE 8.5 et 29 fronts, and 10 et 23 rear wheels but I am not sure what the offsets are they are not marked any where on the wheel. How can I confirm what the offsets are how is that figured? I like an aggressive flush look but not sticking out wider than fenders my fenders are rolled and would like to run 275/30 rear and 235/35 front I am not crazy about the streched look. My car is not droped at the moment but I would like to get some coilovers at some point. I want flush with no rub and no other mods other than the rolled frenders once my car gets lowered.

What kind of offsets should I consider to get me where I want to be on my E90 LCI xdirve.

You're offsets are the ET numbers, so offsets of ET29 at the front and ET23 on the rear.

I assume you're after something else, what measurement is it you actually want?

I was told from the the guy I bought the wheels from that the offsets are 29 and 23 they are not marked on the wheels and I would like to confirm what I was told they are.

I had them on my car with a 275/35 on the rear and it would rub just a bit on bigger bumps and it stuck out a bit wider than the fenders I want something less aggressive I don't know how much more offset need to run to get a nice flush look without rubbing.

If you want a less aggressive fitting wheel you will need a bigger offset (eg rather than 23 on the rear, 30 or so).

The offset is measured in mm, so to work out what you want, measure the change in offset you want and add that to the offset. So if you want the wheel to be tucked in a further 5mm, add 5 to your current offset.

I hope that explains it. There are plenty of explanations of offsets out there on the web which will be more helpful then this.

Alternatively you could fit a slightly smaller wheel to try and stop it rubbing, would be a lot cheaper than new wheels and you don't have to get a crazy stretch, 265 or 255 on the rears wouldn't be OTT.

Also, see here regarding fitting a narrower tyre to a 10" wheel, 265 is pretty squared off - Link

Hey thanks for the help. Offset are the same reguardless of what wheel right HRE, BBS, DPE its just how for or how tucked the wheel is going to be right? Looking to find out what most guys are running to get a nice flush no rub look when going with 19" wheels, both offset and tire size.

Those front wheel and tire specs seem fine, but on an E90 LCI the rears are aggressive, and because you have an AWD model, it's going to be tough to fit those with 275s on them.

You can verify the offsets by measuring the backspacing and then converting it to the wheel offset.

What would you suggest tire and offset wise? Keeping in mind I don't care for the over streched look. When I use the tire rack calculator there is less than .5 inch difference from my stock 255/35/18 to the 275/30/19 in tire diameter and less than .25 from 265/30/19.

275/30/19 is closest to a 235/35/19. We generally go with 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 to avoid any chance of rubbing though, and haven't had a problem.

In regard to the offsets, our recommended specs are way different. Our customers typically go with 19x8.5 ET35/19x9.5 ET45. Your rear specs stick out 28mm further than ours, and you would be running a bigger tire than we go with on ours. ET45 rear is really designed to work without any fitment issues (stock fenders, stock suspension, etc.). Since yours are rolled, you could probably get away with more aggressive specs, just keep in mind your tire sizing. You don't have a lot of wiggle room since you have an AWD car.

Figure I'll put my question here to. I'm looking a something with these offsets: 19X8.5 +31 and 19X10.5 +25. Have a E90 and just wondering how these would fit, would I need spacers, tire sizes, the normal questions. Thanks for the help.

The fronts will fit just fine, the rears are going to be aggressive on an LCI model. Can't really recommend tire specs on a setup like that since it will depend on how low your car is, your alignment, tire brand/model you were thinking about, what fender work you've done, etc.

sorry to be another person asking you about offset, i can't even imagine how many times you've had to answer this lol. i just want some clarification, and it seems your the one to ask. I have a 2009 sedan with no fender rolling or suspension upgrades. for me to run 19's front and back what kind of offset would i want to run? I don't want rubbing. i figure that if i do suspension upgrades/ fender rolling i can just get wheel spacers in the future. The look i want to get out of my wheels would be something like the vossen cv3s. i know there are a lot of look alikes I'm just trying to find the right ones. i would like to run 265s in the rear and 235s in the front.

thanks!

My car is RWD

Typically for a nice, easy, bolt on fitment, you'd want to run a 19x8.5 ET35 front and a 19x9.5 ET40-45 rear. This sizing will easily fit a 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tire. For first time wheel buyers, I always suggest going this route, as you can easily add spacers and do additional fender work for a more aggressive fit later down the line, like you mentioned.

Just an FYI:

235/35/19 = 25.48 inches in diameter
265/30/19 = 25.26 inches in diameter

225/35/19 = 25.2 inches in diameter
265/30/19 = 25.26 inches in diameter

Which do you think is closer in diameter and better for speedo readings, especially for an AWD car?

I have 225/40/18 Michelin Super Sports on my OEM 219M 18x8.5 inch wheel and you could see how unstretched they look:

Compare the above with the pic below, Hankook V12 @ 235/40/18... I see no difference:
