Anyway a bit more update.

turned the car on this morning and the idle is a lot more smooth, and driving it is a lot nicer. It feels very fast but smooth as stock vehicles.

anyway the oil cooler mod is working like a charm, so far, no issues, temp rises in the morning a bit slower but no biggie, and during the day my car runs a lower temps than before.

overall very happy
What are your daily temps after it warmed up?

Most high performance cars have thermostats in the ~200-210 range.

This is the only oddball car that likes oil shearing temperatures daily driving LOL

Any info on how exactly the thermostat is removed?

OK the thermostat has a rage of opening and closing of 230, right now the temps are close to 240. and on heavy traffics and hot temps in PR almost on 250, but never past 250.

the procedure is fairly easy, when you see the motor from front you will see the oil cooler just in the middle of the front of the engine. you have to remove 2 side screws of the cover of the thermostat, and one on the bottom of the oil cooler in order to be able to remove the thermostat cover. once removed, just remove the thermostat and a spring, and screw back the cover and bottom screw.

next enjoy.

by the way remove the oil to evade oil mess.

guys, I just had my software updated. But it says 41.4 on my service detail sheet. THe only difference I have noticed so far is the iDrive interface for phone is slightly different. I will get the V5 installed this weekend and see if I still get that annoying limp mode.
