Google the emulator manual. It's pdf format then download Uber Network Fuser. As fusion has no Virtual Network Editor, Fuser is a third party app that does the same thing. Just follow the pdf as best you can.

I was told with ISTA/P I can update my CIC software, would that be possible to do with the ICOM emulator?

My CIC software version is outdated and I need to update it before I can add 6NR BMW Apps.

Re your PM I'll try and PM you a link tomorrow.

Never attempt CIC update or any MOST module for that matter with ICOM Emulator. I hear stories of the emulator bricking those modules due to lack of MOST connection.

I'm afraid only way for you is to buy an ICOM clone / original or ops unit.

Just looking at getting this installed on a VM. How large should I make my C drive?

I'm guessing it will need around 100GB.

Hey buddy - that magnet link for the ICOM emulator doesn't work - could you send an alternative link?

Hi Sensible,

Could you tell me where I can find these xml files? I have a copy of the ICOM Emulator VM setup.

Thumbs up

Yeh, see it now. I was looking for it in the torrent file!

EDIT:

For anyone wanting to set this up on a VM you will need to leave about 100GB. You could get away with 85GB~ but that would be cutting it very fine.

Nice one - any chance you could share a link to the actual emulator?

So I set this up on a BootCamp partition on my MBP and the ICOM emulator doesn't seem to get recognized in ISTA/P.

I couldn't get the link to the emulator you posted to work. I found another but maybe it's not the right one.

How do I go about diagnosing the emulator and ISTA/P?

You guys should check out Beemerboy's ISTA/P loader V3.2.

It includes an ICOM Emulator built it for K+DCAN and ENET cables and doesn't require another VM to work. It's all integrated.

Also the ISPI Next versions of ISTA/P (3.xx) are a lot easier to install (no longer need to partition the drives all over the place).

OK so I tried the loader you mentioned - followed all install instructions but the loader won't start, which makes me think that it can't see I have ISTA/P installed (I've got the ISTA/P version posted at the top of this thread).

Do you have any links to threads containing the "ISPI Next versions of ISTA/P (3.xx)" & install instructions?

A Google search for ISTA/P 3.55 gives a number of links. Although I've attached a BitTorrent version to this post.
