2007 335i damage estimate

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone could give me a damage estimate on my car as the title says. I was wondering if it would wrote up as a complete loss or if it’s a reasonable fix.

My guess is it will probably be a total loss due to the fact that the rear quarter is damaged. if it was only the driver door, it would be a fairly easy fix, but that quarter along with the door will probably cost more to fix than the car is worth or pretty close to it.

Damn kinda sad to hear my first car that I've had for a month will be totaled lmao shitty luck I guess but oh well. Do most insurance companies give you the option to buy the car back or how does that work when your not at fault, i know that's not really related to the original topic but just wondering Bc I've never dealt with this before

To do it right would be 2-3k.

Used door is $200. Quarter panel fix would be $1.5k+

Totalled, unless you or someone you know can buy the parts and fix it too. Reminds me of when Goonzquad rebuilt the hellcat

Sourced a quarter panel from the salvage yard

What is car worth?

I think paint for door and quarter will run 800 - 1000.00. Beating out sheet metal maybe the same. If you replace door and quarter panel more.
What is car worth when fixed?

That car is still probably worth $7k-$10k without damage, no? I don't think that damage would total it out. My friend with an E92 335is had similar damage on the left quarter panel and it cost around $2k through insurance.

Does it have a moonroof? Manual seats? Interesting seeing a base model with red interior optioned + 6 speed, maybe it has some more special stuff?

That estimate is for new OEM parts. No insurance company will authorize new OEM parts for a 12 yo car. Take at least 2k off the parts alone. But labor on the 1/4 will be costly.

Unless you have godly insurance I doubt they would actually pay for OE replacement. $5k shouldn't total out your car. If you take it to the right shop they could replace everything for cheaper, have some left over for labour on other things. I know someone who had that happen with.

5K worth of damage will pretty much total a 7K car. Depending on the insurance company and other circumstances, of course. Probably not going to use OEM parts, so that might be the deciding factor between whether or not it’s totaled.

If totaled, buying it back might be a good option.

Good luck.

I just went through this same thing. I had light front end damage that I thought wouldn't cost much to fix. The estimate ended up being $5400. My insurance company valued the car (2007 328i with 130000 miles) at $6100, which of course made it a complete loss in their eyes. I told them I wanted to keep the car because I didn't think the damage was that severe. In the end, they pretty much paid me to keep it.
