**Can't get my k+Dcan cable to work??

I just bought a new cable and a usb otg cable for my note 4 to run MHD flasher and i cant get it to connect for some reason. Does anyone know if there is a sequence or something that needs to be followed when plugging everything in? Any help is greatly appreciated.
