E90 320d trunk latch issue

Hello all,

My first post.

I have an issue with my trunk latch. I have googled and used search with no luck.

I will put down the steps I have to do in order to open the trunk:
Ignition ON (without ignition trunk button doesn't work). Press the trunk button, I can hear the motor working for about 0.5s, but the trunk is still locked. Then I go back to the ignition, OFF/ON, and back to the trunk. Press the button and again, the motor runs for 0.5s. And I repeat till it unlocks the trunk. Once open, I have to reset the ignition once more, because the pin is keeping the latch unlocked.
The lock/latch mechanically is good. I do not suspect wiring as it always happens the same way. I have to reset the system with the ignition OFF/ON.
The motor seems OK, I spun it and can not feel any grinding or friction. Tested windings and found it to be around 1.1Ohm.
To me, it looks like the control unit doesn't spin the motor long enough.
I have dismantled the whole latch and made some videos to show what happens.
  1. Video 1 imitates when the trunk is closed and locked.

  2. Then I proceed with ignition OFF/ON, it opens the lock.

  3. If I would close the trunk it would take me like 3-4 ignition OFF/ON turns to open it again.

With ignition, the trunk button works only once, not sure if that's how BMW works. My remote has a trunk button, but I have never seen it doing anything.

I do not have much experience with BMW so any hints would be appreciated. Need to know the direction as I could spend loads of money on parts I don't need.

Regards,
Martynas
