Double flashing hazards in Europe
I just had some coding done to my car in preparation for its inspection and registration in Spain. The guy who did the coding accidentally selected the double hazard flash option and now I am afraid it may not pass the inspection.
I am dropping off the car at the dock tomorrow in Galveston, TX and won't have the time to fix this. For those of you in Europe/UK, will this cause an issue you think? If so, my only option would be to have it coded remotely. Problem is I don't have the cable to hook up to the car, and it might be a bit tricky to find a good spot for wifi for my laptop as the car will be in Barcelona and I don't know anyone there with a house where I can park the car and pick up a wifi signal. |

I guess its the luck of the day. Spain has very strict rules on vehicle regulations. If you can delay the registration to get it fixed I would.

May be so, but unfortunately that won't do me any good if I can't get the car through inspection.
I sent an email with the link to the Youtube video to the company which will handle the bureaucratic nightmare to have it inspected and registered to have him check with someone who might know if this is acceptable or not. |

First off, you've 6 months from arrival in Spain in which to get the car registered. So no panic. Just make sure you have insurance, valid driver's licence, etc.
I know close to nothing about what hardware or software you would need to do some coding, but I do know a free wifi connection is available at the car park of your nearest McDonalds. Well, you may have to hunt around to find a reliable connection, but it's a facility I've used often. To assuage any feelings of guilt, nip in afterwards and grab a coffee. |

I would really like to have it registered within two months of its arrival as that will exempt me from paying ~€1400 in environmental taxes.
I have ordered a coding cable and the guy who did the coding will do it remotely. Thanks for the tip on McDonalds, didn't think of that one. |
