Instead of dumping on everyone else's systems:
1 Put up some more vids.
2 Sell the exhaust and the buyers will do more advertising than you could ever pay for.

with clients driving around they will be asked what kind of exhaust system it is and that's the best kind of advertising

We do have plans for a quad-tip version as well, but it will probably come out after the initial set of exhausts we build.

From what we understand, the Xi coupe has an IDENTICAL exhaust system to the i, the only difference is with the downpipes, so it should fit perfect.

At this time, we do not because we built this as a completely bolt on kit using flanges. If we make the exhaust starting after the cats, it would require cutting of the stock exhaust making it a less than seamless transition back to stock should you ever need to do so. As with the Quad-tips, it'll be something we'll make as an option later. We are, however, going to offer a HFC option from the start for those that would like to retain their secondaries.

The weight on the system is exactly 55.5lbs. The stock exhaust weighed 79lbs even when we weighed it. As a side note, the stock exhaust looks like a kindergarten class welded it for art class.

The exhaust uses ALL flanges. There are no slip-joints anywhere on it.

Well, on a turbo car, X-Pipes have been known to actually lose some horsepower, and are mainly used to cut down on rasp, such as on the E46 M3 which sounds extremely raspy without an X-Pipe. Our reasoning behind not having an X-Pipe was to satisfy our first goal which was performance. Sound came second and if it sounded absolutely terrible without an X-Pipe, we planned to add it, but it doesnt need one at all.

There is absolutely no rasp as you will see in the other videos we'll post when theyre ready. There is not a resonator, or any secondary cats on this exhaust. We fully intend to make necessary modifications to the exhaust once we finish our downpipes to make it sound good as well because catless downpipes will most likely add quite a bit of rasp as you said.

Thanks for your feedback! Much appreciated, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask and I'll be glad to help.

It sounds like you are implying that X pipes are bad or something.

I'm very interested in this product though.
The tips look very nice and not overly large like I think other manufacturers tend to do.

It would be nice to see the complete system.
If there is absolutely no rasp then I will guarantee that there is a nice resonator/resonators in the middle of the system taking the place of the secondary cats.

Adding the catless DPs to this system though will pretty much add a little rasp, but that's somewhat a given.
Looking forward to getting more info on this system.

I dont believe we've dumped on anyone elses system, or atleast not targetted at anything in specific. I think what jpsimon and any other posts have meant is that this is a quality hand built system with all flanges that even uses hand built mufflers that we do not order off the shelf somewhere. Even the tips are hand built.

We will be selling the exhausts very shortly. We want to have them all in stock and ready to ship when we begin taking orders, however, we will not turn down pre-orders if someone wants to ensure their spot in the first order, but nobody will be charged until they ship. As jpsimon said, we arent using a group buy to fund the development of the system.

I agree. $1500-2000 for a muffler is egregious! it's actually hilarious

Hell, it would make more sense to charge more for the DPs since we all know the stock 335's exhaust arent the weak link.
... its the restrictive DPs! So basically, companies are charching $1500-$2000 for a little bit of hp (if any)and alot of sound!
Look, this can be debated all day, all im saying is that if you price these lower than the other rip-offs, you sell alot more.

Will these be offered in 100mm tips?

The tips looks like 90mm...95mm will be perfect IMO, RE will be using that size, but their tips doesn't look as nice from the prototypes.

It's been said before but just in case. If someone builds a system they have fixed costs in the development. Items that come to mind are tooling, development prototype scrap loss, time, facilities and inventory.

The transaction price for 304L in today's market is north of $2.00/lb with Ni surcharges in coil form. This is assuming you are buying in 30,000 lb full coil lots. If not the cost will be higher. Now you have to turn that flat stock into a tube for the pipes. If you don't happen to own your own tubing facility you have to buy tube from a tuber. Safe to say the tuber is going to make a profit for his time and investment. Also safe to say that the average small buyer is going to pay a lot more than an OE for the tube.

Now that that the prototypes are done all that has to be done is buy more material, pay to have the systems built, inventory them, package for shipping and wait for those big dollars to roll in

My guess is if the vendor could count on selling 30,000 units per year the cost might get to where a few people think it should be.

That does sound good. We'll be making an E92 M3 exhaust as well since we have a black on fox M3 on order.
