DIY Restore "Open to Vent" 1-Touch Sunroof Function in LCI E90s
I became aware that the LCI E90s do not have a feature that the Pre-LCI E90s have, and that's "Open to Vent" 1-Touch Functionality in the Sunroof button. Well, I'm here to tell you that that functionality is a hardware thing and can be installed by swapping out your LCI Switch/Dome light assembly with a Pre-LCI one.
I removed the Visor anchors on each side of the rear view mirror which allowed me to drop the headliner in front of the switch assembly and press the clips in making removing it super easy. You should do it this way too. Seriously, don't try to pry it from the underside, you're likely to break the dome light cover. It took less than 10 minutes start to finish. Removing this switch assembly does throw codes if you do it with the key in the on position (I was updating my Nav Maps at the same time), but they go away as soon as you install the new switch assembly. |
