I'll repost my question to Jon (since now we're up to page 4 )...

Great runs and videos guys!!

Jon -- you praise and recommend the JB2R, but you had the PROcede v1.47 and were waiting for v2. From these videos, it appears that Walked U "walked you" in a similar fashion as he did when you were running v1.47. Does this mean you're sticking w/ the JB2 (obviously you wouldn't run the (R) race gas switch w/ race gas all the time on a daily basis, so you'd have to revert back to the lower power JB2 on pump gas) or are you still waiting for PROcede v2 (to reinstall PROcede when you get v2)????

So 333, 323, and 317 are with stock downpipes. I think the 333 run was a boost spike or something, he never replicated it. So say the average before downpipes was ~320, and the average after ~324. That is just peak, someone would need to check for total power under the curve.
If you look at his pattern based on consecutive runs, the power decreases with each run.

Mr. 5 can pipe up, but perhaps his stock cats runs were more closely spaced. Note that his stock cats also produced more torque.

Do you really believe that better flowing downpipes actually hurt power?

Yeah I'm hoping to get up there soon. I just installed some new downpipes I need to test out.

What I don't do is base my decisions on widely accepted mantra without supporting evidence.

I base it on the observed facts. The facts contradict your assertion that the DPs helped Walked U.

true.....but you can also look at the Riss dyno's.

I think the downpipe power gains are as widely misunderstood as which tuner is faster.

If I recall correctly, Riss's dynos are on (1) Riss's catless downpipes and (2) stock tuning

Walked U is running another brand, catted and is tuned.

If one looks at the data Mr. 5 presented, including boost curves, any reasonable person will conclude the downpipes were worth 4-8rwhp all else being equal.

It just so happens I installed a set on my car last night (worst.install.ever), and I'll be hitting the track Friday (weather permitting) to see what I get.

Everything was exaclty the same.

Gas, weight, passenger, tranny... EVERYTHING

I changed nothing from when myself and terry raced. I raced on the base base setting 2.0.2 map that I did with terry.

We need to check the boost on Jon's car. I gave him a switch from the "blemish" stash in the back of my car. I have a feeling he wasn't getting as much boost as he should have been getting.

Also john was on 98 octane with 1.47 and JB2R, nothing was changed. We replicated the whole thing. Only thing that was changed was the tune for jon.
Cool.

I was going to suggest you putting your GF in his car too.
That should of evened it out a bit, that's for sure.

Nice work again Sherwin.

He hasn't raced any other cars with V2.02 yet (unless he has raced Leftcoastman or Eugen) - he did pull a couple carlengths on V2.01 cars though.
