Cheapest BMW dealership oil change?
Seems like the price of an oil change varies at each dealership in the GTA. Anyone have any info on this? Maranello wants 150$

Going to the dealer for an oil change is your first mistake.

You can buy the oil from Maranello (Mike) under maxbimmer price. I think it works out to $8 per bottle (all in), buy the oil filter there too and bring everything to RMP to have them do the work for like $20 - $25.

Are you retard? There are many more ll approved oils. And just because BMW dealer doesn't use a certain oil does not mean there are not better oil for your car. I think some people just like to argue. I think maybe you better go to dealer and stay there! They are the best! :!) |

Stick with the dealer I guess. They've also got some of the best windshield washer fluid too. No sarcasm, it really is. |

Personally, as much as I love the dealer washer fluid, I cringe at the thought of any dealer monkey working on my car. Even if its just for an oil change. And yeah, you're totally wrong about the you're/your contraction btw |

Thank God I sold my 335. This place really has become a daycare over the last couple of years, lol.

GEEZ..give it a rest already.
OP..Maranello BMW by far has the cheapest OEM oil that I can find in the GTA. I use The Castrol Syntec 0w30 European Formula oil that can be found in Canadian Tire. This is BMW approved oil and is a true synthetic oil. Seems to work great in my car with my particular driving conditions and performance modifications. The key is to purchase this oil when it is on sale, otherwise it can get pricey at regular price ($10-11 I believe). For the most part, I do all the work on my car. |

I changed my own oil too. 1st time ever and it was on my e90. Not very hard and cheaper than most..If you have ramps or jack stands your good to go. Remove little drain bolt cover. Undo the drain bolt, drain the fluid, remove the filter, replace rubber o-rings in filter housing, replace metal washer on the bolt. refill oil.

for me i get my oil changed by someone because i need a paper trail or i feel lazy.
what i did last time was I bought the oil from BMW and went to IVO to get it done. He charged $20 to do it. but If you need paper work saying it was done he needs to get the oil for you and do the work so it brings it $120 (I'm sure that's what he told me last time) but I've seen a lot of oil change specials from a lot of these guys rpm, bimmerex and they use authorized BMW oil and filter (but not BMW Oil and filter), I believe most of these guys use MANN filter and whatever oil. Alternative spend $80 and get the oil and filter from the dealer and do it yourself hope that helps. |

the docs state that the oil must be changed by a certified technician. I have lubrico warranty. you know if just the receipt for the oil is good enough for them? |

I have coverage one and they only require you to have receipts of the oil you buy if you DIY.

So the oil is about $40, labor is $25 and filter is??? How much are you saving after to travel all over the place to pick everything up? Not to mention its insulting to RMP. I would never do the labor only if I were RMP. Everyone has to make money. What do you do for a living?

well. Rocco is perfectly fine with the situation, he names his price and I pay. If he said no to me of bringing in my own oil & filter, then he could simply refused me right on the spot. I had done the change from his shop a few times already and no complaints from him at all. If Rocco wants to charge me $30 - $40 for the labor, I am fine also. At the end, I still save a bit of money. Is that wrong ?
I don't see what I do for a living has to do with this thread's topic ? I wonder. Quote:

I passed by Maranello on my way home from school yesterday, ended up just getting them to do the oil change. Cost me 153$ tax in. If i were to buy just the oil and filter from them it would have been 123$. So for the extra 30$ it made sense to have them do it.

holy christ, $213 today at Budds hamilton, but I was in a hurry for the long weekend, they nail me with a checklist need rear pads/rotors/sensors, $535 installed or $755 parts un-installed..what??? alignment $235, tires under spec, $2100 replacement balance, coolant change - $135, power steering fluid change - $170, grand total would have been $3800 + for a car I've owned for 6 months, which is when they last serviced/certified it. I opted for the oil only at this point...I'll be taking it elsewhere from here on in, anyone know where to get brakes/parts cheaper than the dealerships? I can do the work myself or take it to RMP (who did a wicked job on my K1 install BTW)
