Thumbs up 335D for sale

Hi guys, you may remember a while back i was looking to transfer my lease... this was for two reasons, one, due to changes in my job travelling became much less neccessary and the monthly cost could not be justified, secondly, bmw finance made an error and stuck me on a contract hire when in fact i should have been on a pcp...

this has all been resolved now and the contract is back on a pcp, hence i am able to get out of it using the settlement figure...

so basically, the car is up for outright sale...

• E92 335d SE in Sparkling Graphite on 07 plate
• Coral Red Dakota Leather
• 19" 230 Rims
• Pro SatNav / BT / Voice Control
• Electric Folding Mirrors
• OEM Aero Lip
• Floor Mats

the car is up for sale for £36,000, has done 4500 miles and is in immaculate condition.

I was going to say the passenger side wheels have some slight scuffing but they are being replaced as we speak curtesy of my insurance, someone forced me into the curb and the passenger wheels dint look too pretty so they are being replaced for brand new ones, and all four tyres are gonna be brand new also

the original pricing for the car was just over £40k so i think this is a fair price (wouldn't mind some un-biased opinions on this though, the price has been based on what dealerships have told me and also autotrader etc)

for pics see here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49790

hopefully someone will be interested, its an amazing car as i'm sure you all well know ( a few people on this forum have been in it and seen it in the flesh so i'm sure people can vouch for me )

Zim,

A lovely motor, no doubt about it. Are you staying 'within the fold'?

My personal opinion on the price is that it is a little (and only a little) high.

A national used car search on BMW revealed this:

http://www.bmw.co.uk/bmwuk/auc/car_d...WD72040PV99722

A similar car to yours (albeit on a 56 plate, rather than an 07, although it is a Feb 2007 car).

Near-identical spec and mileage etc.

The dealer price is £1k under your asking (which would account for and negate the age/plate difference)

But typically people buying private are looking to source at at least £1k if not £2k below a dealer price. So I think to move it you'll need be between £34k and £35k (although I truly hope you get your £36k and I'm proven wrong!)

Best of luck with the sale, you must be v sad to see it go.

man i hate depreciation.....

think ours was nearer 45k, but got it a little cheaper... does a higher original price negate a higher residual?

good luck with the sale zim buddy! what are you buying next?

Hi ZiM, Sorry to hear that you are selling such a great car.

As for the price, I think it is a bit high since you can buy a new car with your spec for roughly £35,800 thru autoebid.com

Zim sorry about your predicament.

Now then you can buy 07 cars from BMW main dealers with a sticker price of 34500 so with a little negotiation probbably 33500-34000. so i would say you'll be lucky to get 33k

Good luck anyway

Steve.

Friend of mine just sold his April 07 335i SE Auto Coupe Black/Black leather High gloss Shadow line 18” Alloys, Sat Nav /BT, H/seats E/Mirrors + Mats UK Car with 2500 Miles had it in Auto Trader for £32995 only got 4 phone calls (+ the usual scams) Got a call from Sytners buyer who gave him £32K for it they had it advertised for about two weeks @ £36495.00 so with the 57 plate due soon I think you may have to reduce your asking price.

thanks for the opinions guys i'll take em on board...

where in your opinions is the best place to sell this? in the past i've always had enthusiast cars (such as honda integras etc.) so always bought/sold through the owners clubs... this is much more mainstream so thinking maybe autotrader?

shame there's noone interested on here

Sad to see it go ZiM If no luck with Autotrader, Pistonheads or Fleabay, what about the stealer network? either an outright p-ex/sale or some kind of incentive to sell it on your behalf.

its on the list mate

although, as i said in the first post, the wheels and tyres are getting replaced as we speak due to me being run into the curb and it was counted as hit and run as they didn't stop, not a massive amount of damage but it was still an insurance job so my no claims is screwed right now

i was 3 months of getting my 4 years which could have been locked too
