Eh, $40 is still much cheaper than the $130 for the box I have to wire in.

I remembered that someone on some forum suggested to adjust the volume on the phone to get better BT quality and that worked. I had the phone volume all the way up when connected to BT thru the aux cable. I turned the volume on the phone way down and turned it up in the car and the audio is much much better. The bass isn't as boomy as a wired aux connection, but I mainly listen to podcasts so I just needed voice clarity and got it.

Now the only problem is the volume is way up in the car, so when I change it to another source without adjustment, it blows out my damn eardrums.

You want quality audio on that lame CCC? Here is what I did.

1- connect tune2air 3000b USB only.
2- connect rocketfish 3.5 mm jack and power.
3- pair both.

That’s it. Deeper bass/cleaner sound with steering wheel controls/display support. Your results may vary.

Does anyone tried this device?

Something I was looking for a while. A usb A2Dp that creates ''fake mp3'' so the E90 CCC can read it. Simple concept, by seems to be a ''unwanted'' device, so not really devices available on the net.

Info I couldn't find :

- CBR or VBR and what kbps. CCC read only CBR @ 265kbps or less.
- Does the seek control is working

Bought it, was 3$, will see in few weeks.

Had one of these long time ago from aliexpress. Never worked. Hopefully yours is a different story. Tune2air is the next best thing if you don't want to spend and setup the streaming box.

So got this 3$ A2DP usb stick, andddd...

it works surprisingly good ! (E90 08' CCC unit)

Pros :

- clear sound (using a sound dsp/equilizer like Viper4Android, makes the sound 10x better than a .mp3 on a memory stick)
- connection is flawless
- phone is able to send music via this dongle, but send phone calls on OEM bt.
- Only 5 seconds delay ( buffering)
- Creates 3 mp3. So you can use next/previous OEM button.
- tested briefly on my F25, and seems to work well.

Cons :

- since OEM headunit don't have a play/pause button, you can't start music on headunit. (even with the CCC knob)
- after skipping the 3 created mp3, the CCC stops responding for the mp3 list only, but music still running. You can use volume at this point. And for skipping songs, you'll need to use the phone.

* didn't test phone calls on the dongle mic. (anyway the delay is too great to use it)

At the end, this is very perfect for people using streaming, and don't skip songs.

very pleased.

Anyone here try installing one of these?

Apparently you can just plug it into the back, the quadlock top left connector, supposedly replacing the wiring from the cd changer. Would it be enough to splice into the existing connector (as our cars come with cd changer prep), and update code for cd changer?

Subbed. Interested in the above post. If that does work then I believe steering wheel controls and song names on the display will work too

My tunai firefly has problems..

Forgive me for not reading through the whole thread. I searched but couldn't find anything.

I recently bought a 2011 E91. It has L7 and Bluetooth Audio.

Question: is it possible to improve the signal quality with factory BT?

I love being able to use the factory buttons to change songs and see music info on iDrive.
Most of the time the audio quality is good, however sometimes it has trouble connecting and randomly cuts in and out.

So the op should update this thread but the tunai is not the end all of streaming, it really is great until the temperature goes under 40 degrees and then it is a POS, basically won't work in cold climates, so come winter it doesn't work until you warm it up in your hand for a minute, so if you live anywhere that the temp goes under 40 the tunai in useless and lots of the Amazon reviews indicate this as well, not just one or 2 of them has the issue.
