Engine, transmission, and diff oils changed, got a brake fluid flush, winter rims/tires installed, got her detailed, rust proofed, and 20% window tint done (she had a light tint when I bought her, but not nearly dark enough). She's ready for winter ( ) now.

Cheers!

Had them fix my blower under a recall. 4 hours later, it's the same bloody car.

To be honest, it’s been so long that I don’t recall. I believe they are the OEM version though just can’t be 100% sure. I tried fixing the pull tabs but it’s not really an issue to pull them down by the plastic.

My FCP order was successfully delivered to my work today and it looked like someone stomped on the box. Can’t wait to see how my exhaust packaging looks when it shows up tomorrow.

Battery had been showing signs of weakening, so installed a new one.

Broke the long damn hold down bolt while I was at it, though. Was apparent it was going to break from the very first turn. Seemed to have fused pretty well in there. Oh well...

Installed a BN2000 combox for OEM Bluetooth streaming audio! Love it. Wish I'd done it a long time ago.

Also did some minor coding tweaks to the car while I was at it.

Next up - smoked bumper reflectors and sidemarkers. After that, I'll be done modding until I can find an OEM Performance Diffuser. It seems to be discontinued

Installed 12mm spacers with the winter wheels

Noticed I may have an oil filter housing gasket leak.

Also need zip ties to clean up the engine bay

Changed out the differential pressure sensor and then unboxed the two new Style 66 wheels that arrived this week (two others coming next week).
My shop assistant approved.

Fixed an exhaust leak that popped up not long after d-pipes went on the car. Fortunately it was a simple fix: one of the new d-pipe to mid-pipe gaskets had blown out. Replaced both gaskets with Felpro part # 9547 which were available locally for $3 a piece.

If I run into further issues I'll be going to Felpro 60308 which are designed a bit differently and have metal around the inner lip similar to the OEM gaskets. So far so good though.

I use felpro for all of the gaskets on my DD jeep. They have worked great

Completed the 328i oil temp retrofit, by replacing RPM face from a harvested 335i gauge cluster. It's a good thing I got the whole cluster too, as I screwed up the worm drive when I was replacing the needles so I needed to harvest a new servo unit from the 335i cluster.
Went in after a few times of adjusting, got the RPM and spedo to work properly again (and to accurate speed).

Also took the cruise control gearing and used it to make a false warmup warning gauge. It's completely cosmetic and it kills me a little doing it, but it made me feel better using more parts from the 335i cluster. Still working on making it look cool on startup.

Did you use Perfekt Toolbox to code/calibrate the speedo, tach, and cruise speed indicator?

Cheers!

Yup, Perfekt Toolbox was the main tool. Working the stepping and offset so it moves the way I'm envisioning which is a little more than what Vehicular DIY does. All respect to the guy as he gives a visual to a lot of stuff that others aren't willing to do. But I wanted one of a swooping action since again, it's just cosmetic, so mind as well go balls out if I'm opening it again. For the record, you can't just use the white line indicator that came from the cruise control — it aligns at either just behind the dial or opposite at 5k (if you flip). Most people should want it around 4200 to start and then go towards 7k and disappear. Because it's so close to 5K you could never go "through" 5k with a flipped setup. As such, gotta paint, tape or give a certain vendor a call and put in an order.

Cool. Did you have to play around with the numbers in the Toolkit to get accurate readings on the gauges? For example, did you get the speedo to show your true speed, as opposed to the higher speed NMW programs into it?

I got the tach bang on, but I find the speedo is still slightly off (high), and I'm still fooling around with the cruise speed indicator (it shows lower than actual). Running the static tests, gives me accurate results, but once I'm actually out driving, I see the disparities.

Cheers!
