I masked around the logo with an inch on all sides. Once I did the 4 coats I peeled the tape up and with it came the plastidip which i carefully peeled off everything except the logo.

I'd like it more if the lines came out cleaner, you gotta use a really thin tape that can bend more. Great attempt though, I'm just being picky.

Well I agree with you but that was the only tape I had. I just did it as a fun quick and reversible project when I was bored on the weekend so for what it is i'm happy with the outcome.

[QUOTE=psmitty95;12619220]Thanks pulling it all together was exactly what i was hoping to do.
No you tape off whatever you don't want dipped and dip everything including the edges. When you are satisfied with the color you just do one last coat by getting the edge wet where it meets the tape and peel it off while wet. If you do that the tape will come off and create a perfect line without peeling away any plastidip. I keep thinking about doing the door handles but idk if it'd look good since i don't have black wheels... feel free to post a picture though i'd love to see how it looked. I'm also a bit worried about the texture since the door handle is what you touch most often so what do you think about the texture? haha ill post the pic of it tomorrow.. and the texture is weird but it looks really nice.. and srry im kinda confused on how to do the egde? like only one coat on the egde or i do all 3 but the last one i take the dip off when its wet.. right |

Hmm, I wonder what it would look like with painted exhaust tips? (high temp paint of course)

Idk but i've thought about swapping out my tips for some black chrome or just regular silver sometime in the future. First i gotta decide if i'm getting a new exhaust or not.

That looks good also. How'd you do both of those? Just mask off general area, spray, then peel off overspray or did you use a method similar to mine taping off up to the edge?

That's actually the first and only Plasti-dip **anything** on a car that I think looks good. Congratulations on finding something it actually looks nice on (besides fishing lures...)!
The back end of the car would look a lot better without that ugly license plate bolt bruise in the bumper cover, though. |
