Hehe speaking about VRSF, just installed a VRSF 5" HD Stepped.
Compared to my Forge, my thoughts : - Cooling is twice better than the Forge (14° vs 29° delta) during a 3rd to 4th gear pull - Underboosting by 0.5/1 psi compared to target (Forge was closest) but a bit more psi too - Higher WGDC by around 5% (but ambient temp was higher, probably normal?) - Slower spool by 100 rpms at initial spool up (in 3rd gear, 560 rpms/1.40sec to reach target with the VRSF, vs 460 rpms/1.1sec with the Forge) Maybe the DME has to adapt a bit more, it seems like it pulls stronger at mid and high rpm, but not in the low rpm.. while i am happy with IATs, i was looking for better results at low rpm (it was my main concern) i guess it's because of the extra volume over the Forge which is not stepped. Anyone got a pic of the passenger side coupler from the engine bay (from top) ? The turbo outlet metal pipe has two lips, my silicone couplers goes over the first lip, but not over the second lip or just barely, just like the stock accordeon coupler, i think it's normal, but just want to be sure ? (if i move the coupler over the second lip, i might be short on the endtank connection btw) Like on this pic : EDIT: got confirmation by email of VRSF support that the clamp has to be placed after the first lip, so it's ok. Hey guys, I've been reading this thread all morning but I still can't decide what FMIC would be best for my needs, maybe you guys can help.
My 335i XDrive is bone stock as of now but with in the next year I aim to have: Remus Exhaust Secondary cat delete Tial BOV + chargepipe Catless Downpipes (not sure what brand, any recommendations?) Dual Cone Intake JB4 I am thinking the Wagner EVO II Performance or the EVO I Competition. I really don't know what's best for my car so any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers. |

I think I might be reaching or going beyond the limits of my 5" ETS. Mods are listed in my sig. IAT's seem to be getting a little high this year, so I was wondering if upgrading to a 7" style would make much difference on my car? I am running stock turbos but just about everything else has been upgraded.

Also, you should get a custom tune. Small money. I'm guessing you don't have E85 access so run some meth.

I do understand it might be overkill, but driving around in a 45'c for half a year is not fun.
Yes the plan is to have upgraded twins soon along with a custom tune, i do have access to E85. But this is my daily and E85 prices here are nightmare. |

I have that on my car, i had to do extra work on the outlet side to match the inside diameter, i used to have forge 5" before i feel it was performing better (cooling wise).

285 dollars for a 7.5" race intercooler. Funny ad with last pictures attacking VRSF.

How does the Wagner Evo 2 Performance compare to the VRSF 5" HD?
After a lot of research and analysis paralysis, I thought I had narrowed it down to the Wagner Evo 2 or the VRSF 7" HD but it seems both may have recently been discontinued. Any other suggestions on what I could consider? Car is basically stock at the moment but looking to start modding / tuning and eventually get to FBO and MHD Stage 2 tune. |

I've been looking around and haven't seen any logs with the Wagner Evo II Competition, any logs for that intercooler?? From what I've gathered Wagner, VRSF, ETS, and AMS seem like the best options and any guidance would be greatly appreciated. But, I've heard claims of the Wagner Evo II Comp. becoming easily heat soaked with temps above 100 degrees F however without any logs for proof... The VRSF seems to offer the best cooling but with just the stock turbos on Stage 2+ I don't think I need THAT much cooling as the pressure drop seems intense. Then the ETS and AMS seem about equal to each other but only offer mediocre performance that I'm not sure is able to handle Stage 2+. I'm lost and really any help would be great!

There's no additional pressure drop when comparing the Wagner to the VRSF
While the other options mentioned are reputable brands, they have abandoned this platform whereas we offer 3 different options suited for particular applications. |

Tiago, I don't see any actual dimensions on your website, so what dimensions are the 5" HD, 7.5" HD & 7.5" Race FMICs?
Also, what's the actual pressure drop between those 3? I think that'd help people like me, who are running stock turbos, come to a decision. |

Wagner EVO II Comp pros are a very high build quality, tube and fin construction (50% lighter that other intercooler with same dimensions), very fast recovery. VRSF pro, high density core to provide improved cooling, quality build at an unbeatable price.

So, you have to deal with that, a bit of pressure drop, but a way better cooling, like no change in IAT in a 3rd pull. So pull after pull you will feel the difference. |
