Remote FOB - Battery Type?

Hi Guys,

Anyone know what battery type/size the FOB takes?

Without me taking apart the FOB to look?

Thanks mrtanz!

Do we need to make sure they are the rechargeable type?

No. If you have to replace your battery, then you must have Comfort Access. CA remotes have batteries that are replaceable but not rechargeable (non-CA remotes have batteries that are rechargeable but not user replaceable). More info below...

ahhhh.... that makes sense! I have CA and was puzzled why the battery indicator was always popping up even after inserting the battery every day!

Thanks for clearing that up!

I guess they expect most CA owners would keep the remote in their pocket/purse.

As a last resort (in case the battery goes totally flat), you can still lock/unlock the car using the integrated mechanical key, and start the car by inserting the remote into the keyhole.

Mine did the same thing after 3 year. Change the battery over the weekend and all good now.

I always keep a spare battery in the console. Same type I use in my camera remote so I swap them over all the time.
