Last summer I had my head lights removed from my car to do some work. It started raining really really hard and I didn't want wires and sensors under my hood to get wet so I closed my hood and used a plastic garbage bag to cover up my headlight cut outs.

I took both pairs of headlights inside my house so i could work on them. The car was left outside with the garbage bag covering the hood and front bumper.

It rained all night but the next morning it was a sunny 90 degree day. I went to take off the garbage bag which was still a little wet and to my surprise there was hazy stains all over my hood and front bumper.

I have tried 95% alcohol to remove it and also many many polishing compounds and scratch removers. Non of them seem to remove these hard hazy stains.

Wow! That is horrific, man. I have no idea what caused it, but it should be easy to take out with PC or other orbital and some Megs UC.

Do you have any paint correction equipment or experience? If not, any quality detail shop should be able to fix it.

Check out the autogeek forums and post this question there. Bunch of paint correction experts there that should be able to give good advice.

Nope, nothing works. I think I may try 3000 grit sandpaper followed by 5000 grit sand paper, and then a polishing paste.

Please don't use sandpaper, save yourself money, hard work and products and consult with reputable detailer in your area. don't fk the paint bro by fixing it yourself because you sound that you don't know what you doing.

FINALLY RESOLVED!!!

Used Meguiars Ultimate Compound (not polish) and it's been through 3 rain storms plus 1 wash and I can confidently say the water mark stains are 100% gone!

Nice!

I've used Megs UC before as well and havn't had much luck with it when used by hand, but it worked wonders when used with a PC.

Make sure you put some polish back on along with a nice LSP to secure that paint.

Yeah I was about to ask if you used compound + polish or only polish.

Happy to hear it's fixed.
