[Solved] CCC+Usb stick: Some Mp3's wont play?
Hi,
I did search, I was on google 3rd page, its far from a google perspective A lot of people got this issue, but none reported back the fix ! Issue info : - 2008 E91 with nav, CCC - 2gb stick in the center console. - FAT32 - About 30 random MP3 from random sources. - The car sees the stick, it takes about 1 minute + to load. I can see song titles. - First song plays, but only 2 minutes (3 min lasting song). - next song plays. - press next again, it select song, but the CCC freeze (need to restart the car). Solutions so far : - At first I was thinking about a bad stick , tried 3 same issue. - Then thinking about a bad format, tried many different mp3, same issue. Next steps : -Now I need to see if cbr , vbr , 128-256-etc bitrate, album art; have something to do whit it. Any advice ? [Solved] : all mp3 CBR (constant bit rate) @256kbps . Converted with CDEX software. see attached config Last edited by oVeRdOsE.; 11-26-2019 at 07:29 AM.. |

I have found that anything recorded with a variable bit rate does not play properly in mine.
it has played everything recorded at a fixed bit rate from 128 to 320 kbps in a standard MP3 format. I have album art and stuff in the folders because I'm lazy and that has not affected it. I've even used the USB drive in the car in a pinch to save some documents and stuff and the car seems to ignore those as well. I'm using a sandisk 128GB drive. |

solved.
______________ Also I'll try this device since no info on the net. - its a USB stick, connected via BT to a phone, A2DP like streaming. USB stick will create a fake .mp3 or .xxx format so the headunit can read it. I don't have any expectation, specially on a 3$ price point. - Useful if we can skip track on OEM seek button. If not, there's better option like : -usb for power, A2DP, sound get out from the 3.5mm jack. - WIFI usb stick , so you can easily transfer file from you phone. yes of course, there's 150$ module, or android upgrade, or CIC upgrade. But not an option for me, my e91 is my winter beater. low cost. Last edited by oVeRdOsE.; 11-26-2019 at 08:10 AM.. |

I use a bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter now, but being able to use the steering wheel controls for forward/back controls would be pretty swell, and song informations from the app on the CCC would be super kicks ass. would all but solve my siriusxm issues with the channel lineup post merger sucking. |

the little dongle I've posted, I found 1 review stating that won't work on E90. we'll see... Tune2air device will do what you've described. Its more expensive than a 3-5$ dongle, but it remains cheap. Found it for 150$, you might get it for cheaper in your area. The most probable option for me would be a Wifi USB stick. This won't be streaming, but when I got a new mp3 in my cellphone, I can set it to sync it automatically with Tasker. So my probable next setup would be ; - my actual cellphone (android device) - .mp3 service, I'm using 7digital. For song I already have paid : ymusic.apk (illegal mp3 download) - for conversion software : Audio Converter.apk from Bdroid. (for batch style the first time, I'm using my PC and CDEX.exe - Auto sync from my phone to usb stick : tasker.apk (or simply use drag-n-drop). for now I'm using a OTG dongle to transfer songs from my cellphone to usb stick. For streaming A2DP , this is the cheapest, and probably what you're using : this is what I'll probably go with : Last edited by oVeRdOsE.; 11-28-2019 at 07:40 AM.. |

I might think with cellphone equipped 5.0 BT tech, you'll still able to connect the phone to OEM BT for calls, and ebay streaming device for music.
We'll see, I've a oneplus 5, with BT5.0 |
