Deal of 2019 right there. Sub 10k M Sport with lower miles

I can almost forgive the lack of a third pedal!
Seriously!! Leaves a lot of room in budget for MT swap.

Not surprised. If its too good to be true, it is. The pictures are real crappy, the front bumper grill looks to be gone, rear fender looks banged up, etc

How much could that e91 sell for with all dings and dents repair and the engine gone through?
$20K+?

I’m about to go get it and fix it and sell it!

I’d say 15ish. I was thinking about doing the same. The higher value is in having an original car. The BaT crowd will rip it apart.

Fixing some small dings and painting, it would still be original?

What’s so special about BaT and e91s?
I see everyone selling their e91 on BaT instead of on the street?

BaT is where you list your vehicle if you're trying to maximize your return (auction format is inherently better suited for that). It typically attracts a more discerning type of crowd which is willing to pay more for the right car (buyers fee is 5% up to 5k if I recall).

The comment section (the peanut gallery if you ask me) is where you'll find people tearing apart/derailing listings. A more generous view would be that these folks are providing helpful knowledge and insight to prospective buyers. You decide.

Ohhhh got it.
I thought he meant they would tear it apart like piranhas during a frenzy trying to win the prize, as in bidding more and more. Lol!

Curious to see some of these comments on current or previous ones.
Do you have any links to these comments?

Bingo.

To add some more color to sturgeongeneral's take -

Original = how it came out of the factory. Replacing panels and performing paintwork means it's no longer original. I definitely fall into the realm of a BaT buyer. I prefer a car that is original with no stories, no paintwork, and will pay a premium for it. People sell E91s on BaT because they command top dollar there and it only costs $100 to list.

You can't ask top dollar for a car that's been in an accident or had new panels and patchy paint work. It's the same reason why salvaged cars are worth significantly less than a clean title counterpart.

Could still be worth a flip if you can buy it cheap enough. Listed at $9,750 but who knows what the seller will take.

Just came from that msport e91 and I’ll say it’s rough. It was used to haul hay to the owners horses so the interior is really really rough... a lot more damage to the body then the pictures show as well. It’s a good project but owner didn’t seem to respond well when o asked what he’d take for it...

It's funny because I live 5 minutes away from this m sport e91 and I saw the listing when it first came up but didn't bother going to look at it knowing this thread would be all over it. Kind of a shame it's come to the point where people are openly using this thread to ask for advice to fix and flip an e91, especially when prices have been slowly creeping down overall. Just be aware people will probably point out the car is a flip and tear it apart so that the flip won't do well.

BaT many times is full of "Internet experts" regurgitating info they read online and pointing out the "spec of dust they saw in the reflection that indicates a bigger problem" based on their experience lol.

What's market rate on a pristine 2-owner E91 M-Sport with 63k miles? 2010, RWD, 6AT, Bluewater, totally stock.

Is it worth going down the BaT road?

There were two LCI RWD, MT, m-sports on BaT that brought around $25k back in 2017. One had 61k miles and the other had 45k. I'm guessing that MT might be worth a premium $6k to $8k over AT. Just my opinion.

To your other question, the people that know the rarity of a RWD, m-sport e91 are definitely lurking on BaT. If your situation were mine, I wouldn't hesitate to throw your wagon up there at no reserve. Pristine, well-documented, rare BMWs always do well.

They haven't pinned down a date yet, but my 39k mile 2011 xdrive auto will be going on BAT very soon. I remember your car when it was for sale, very nice options list and looked clean. I would say the biggest hurdle will be the Bluewater color.

Agreed. Hope the dude that bought it loses money on it. This thread has been fun for a few years in that it helps enthusiasts find themselves a car. If it’s being used so that people can make a quick couple grand I’m going to stop posting here. The funny thing is the market for these cars is pretty small with an equally small amount of cars out there so it’s super easy to spot a flip. Real shame.

I’m happily enjoying my 2 E91s, both found on e90post. It’s been a great 2 years with my unicorn and I’m enjoying our 07 slush box as well 😎

It’s a 2011 m sport e91 with 77k miles for $9k that seems to be getting talked down on because “it’s too rough” or “too good to be to be true”

If someone were to buy it and do the work needed in order to resell it and give it to someone who would enjoy it, then I see no problem if they make a little bit of money from bringing the car back into good condition for a new owner!

It was a good find to post, and if someone cleans it all up and someone else happily buys it once fixed, I’d say it was worth posting.

That'll be a good data point to have.

It's funny - I wanted to use it as the base for an M3 conversion but honestly, it's too nice. Everything M-Sport about it would end up getting taken out, cutting and welding for the rear fenders, the whole front end getting replaced, some interior bits.

I think I'd rather leave it intact and get a more common example to tear apart, not something that they only made a couple hundred of. Don't want it to be thought of as a flip, in that I didn't buy it to sell quickly for a profit, but 6 months after buying it, I think I have a clearer understanding of what I want to start a project with (which is not "the nicest wagon I can find").

Maybe not a bad candidate for an N54 or N55, but that'd be way too easy. Repairs/maintenance on a second M V8, that's what I need in life.

Ok but I went to look at the car to purchase for myself. So I am unsure why you are quoting me in this. I was sharing the results in case someone who was further away would decide whether they wanted to take a look or not.
