We are therefore pleased to replace your tire(s) with new one(s) as a one-off sales gesture only. This compensation will not be considered in any case as acknowledgment of our liability.

Regardless of their final decision after analysing the tyres, the fact that they have (within 24 hours) agreed to supply two new rears for free is fantastic customer service. Even though this have caused some inconvenience, I will be buying Michelin again and recommending to others
Congrats on getting it sorted.

Seems like a similar stance to BMW. We know its our fault, but if we admit it is our fault we open ourselves up claims and potentially litigation therefore we only replace on a "one off" basis when people complain.

Did you take note of what the manufacturer date was of the tyres?

I wonder if they were an older tyres that had been left sitting in the 'wrong' conditions somewhere?

I wouldn't mind knowing the date code too! I had mine fit last December and done about the same mileage, when I get home later I'll be checking my tread to see if I have faulty compound ones!
