Thanks but it's not like the roads are mountainous.

Anyway, if there are options that involve spending some money, I don't mind. I love the car already.

P.s. You need to know what springs and shocks are installed on your car.

Is stock sport suspension. The photos are taken in a way that appears to be lower than it is. If OP doesn't want to invest in different spring setup I believe that we have exhausted all other alternatives.
I'm ready to invest in whatever springs can raise the height. I love the car and it's uniqueness in my city. No limit to my budget. If there are other options, albeit expensive, I will just be patient and get them in about a month.

I would look into x1 2.8i sDrive springs. That is the only bmw Suv similar in size and weight and RWD. Xdrive are AWD. X1Is build around e90 Xi. The rear springs will fit 100%. The front I'm not sure about and I think you will need to replace the struts too. The XI springs are narrower diameter than RWD.
They are not really expensive and I would try finding used just for test fit.

I would also worry about a transmission pan on a lowered car or on seriously bad roads.

Not the tyre rubbing the wheel well.
You can switch to non Sport springs. That will give you a half inch more ground clearance.
You can also switch to 225/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear tires. This will get you almost another half inch. In addition, your speedometer will read closer to true speed, rather than the 3 to 5mph fast BMW programs in.

How. Many miles are on your car? My 330i at 128k miles was a bouncy mess. Speed bumps, pavement height changes ast freeway speeds, and potholes used wayyy too much suspension travel. New shocks tamed this. If your car is bouncing on bumps, your car is getting closer to the ground than it has to, adding to the scraping.

That being said, the bottom of my 330i never contacted the ground. Do you have something loose, or hanging low? I'd look. Well, I did scrape once. I was pulling off the road and the shoulder was about 3 inches ower than the road. When the passenger wheels dropped onto the shoulder, the car scraped down the middle of the underside. Sounded painful, but no damage.
Im looking into slight raising my car by about half an inch.. it seems getting the non-sport springs is probably the best option.. would anyone happen to know if they keep relatively the same spring rate as the sport springs?

also do the FSD's actually raise the car slightly? or do they only adjust ride quality?

If you're only looking to add half an inch, use the methods already described in this thread instead of swapping springs. Shims, mounts, etc. will be much cheaper/easier to implement.

The x1 series BMW is really a e91, so the suspention can potentially be fitted with some thought...

Shawshank, Im with you. I hate how low my E90 sits. 2-4 inches up would be great IMO.

Probably out of budget/difficult to justify for most, but bags would let you raise up high enough. I got rid of my Koni Yellows/HR Sports, and got AirLift Performance system. Tired of scraping and I tow occasionally, so it met/meets my needs well. At max lift I think I've got about 3-4 inches of wheel gap, although you wouldn't want to drive at that height since the ride would be extremely stiff due to the bags being at higher pressure. At the cost of the total system though, you might just consider getting a different vehicle lol

I too think my 2009 328i e90 recently purchased is too low. I use to drive a 2004 325i and thought the new e90 sedan would be similar height. I was disappointed that this e90 sedan is more like the 325Ci e46 sport coupe. Too low for me getting in and out and hitting parking stop blocks and speed bumps.

So I did not read how much non-sport springs would raise my e90 sedan.

Sounds like you want a SUV, I'm not sure why you even bought a sedan if a grocery getter german saloon is "too low and difficult to get in and out." And if you are hitting parking stops, that's not the car's fault but yours.

There was nothing wrong with how the e46 3-Series family was designed by BMW. The “family” 325i sedan was set-up about 2” higher than the “sporty” 325ci coupe. Seems to me to make sense. However all of the e90 3-Series family are set-up as “sporty”, even the 4-door “family” sedan!

And yes it is disturbing when your “family” car hits parking lot speed bumps and cannot pass over parking spot wheel stops as it is usually designed to for most other cars.
