INPA
Can someone point me in the right direction of an updated INPA installation on Windows 10 or Apple tutorial? There’s nothing on YouTube or these forums that I could see. Also, this may be a dumb question but is it only available on windows and not Apple? Thanks in advance for your help and I apologize if there’s a tutorial/thread already posted out there that I have missed.

If you want to run on a Apple product you need to run it under
a virtual machine (that emulates windows) Which is a whole new thing to learn for most people. https://www.virtualbox.org/ Bimmergeeks.net for a cable and downloads. You need to take this to the coding sub forum for more info. http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=368 There are many threads there on installation some of which are kind of dated. diagnostic manual ista/inpa https://bimmerprofs.com/diagnostics-inpa-part-1/ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...xo19teM9vkTF-C https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...7x8H3pN8h1fMuF https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/s...-P-actually-do Ista is way better for diagnostics and repair. You better reread my post it's right in there.
Bimmergeeks.net for a cable and downloads. There has to be about 10 versions of how to download and set it up on the coding subforum the Bimmergeeks.net downloads are current the instructions for setup are in the download and its current enough to work on an 08 and most any other e90. Start with the Standard Tools download for the Inpa suite. Last edited by ctuna; 01-17-2019 at 08:43 PM.. |

Bottomless pit of despair. Arcane concepts. Alchemy. ISTA. Rheingold. Datens. EDIABAS. Untranslatable German. Misinformation. Posts with links that don't work. Soldering pin #8. New Zealand. Radioshack FFS. Windows XP? Jesus Christ.
"If you cant figure out the install or something isn't working, there are other versions floating around the web you can try." What a fucking mess. Hire an expert.

You must be blind as hell because there is literally a subforum called BMW CODING that has multiple threads on how to set this up.
Sheesh, can you be any more pathetic?

So true...well said. I couldn't find one single "follow these steps" tutorial that worked exactly but fortunately I know a little bit about computers, embedded systems, and a very crude understanding of German such that I was able to figure it out (no radio shack, soldering, or XP required, but Jesus may have been watching over me). I'm tempted to help some friends with coding but I don't want to break anything and get blamed. |

I don't recommend running BMW tools on a Mac with a Windows emulator if you are flashing. It causes too many problems with the serial port - but coding should be fine.
Also when following the Bimmergeeks instructions, I recommend skipping the part where it says to "delete the old folders in the C drive" and just copy the new ones over top. |

The only small differences with Windows 10 the command
prompt is now the power shell and yoo must select the admin version. And Windows 10 does not like you to have Admin privileges even if you are Admin. Especially the Home version as compared to the Pro version. |

Easiest way to get this "up and running" is to just use the Oracle VirtualBox images. Not sure why people bother going through the painful installation when there is a VM image you can use.

Exactly.
Half the stickies have no links or deleted files that don't exist anymore. I was lucky enough to find someone on the F30 forums that I think was his website he made for ISTA/Rheingold but his website is now down and I was lucky to get it. I'm thinking of uploading it there back. Bimmergeeks do have INPA though |
