E92 Combox but no Bluetooth?
Hi all,
Need some help here. Recently bought a 335D with the below options: S609A - Navigation system Professional S688A - Harman/Kardon Surround Sound system S694A - Provisions for BMW 6 CD changer S698A - Area-Code 2 for DVD S6FLA - USB/Audio interface S6VCA - Control for Combox I didn't think twice and thought the car must be equipped with bluetooth. Well a week later here I am, trying to connect my Android to use voice calls and also to play music. I've done a bit of research and found some old posts that have said you can easily add an OEM bluetooth adaptor and a mic to the combox, then with a bit of coding i'll be able to use it through the iDrive? Can anyone shed a bit of knowledge on this? End goal here is to be able to answer calls, stream music and also see on screen album artwork etc. Once i've got the bluetooth set up i'll be diving into the BMW Apps! Help a boy out please!

So, when you do finally get it to work you will have;
-Bluetooth calls -Bluetooth music (not sure how good it is with android) What you will not have; -Album art (unless you are using an apple device through the apple cable) If you pull the panel loose under the steering column (3 torque screws) there will either be a Bluetooth antenna or not. If there is no antenna you will need the cable, antenna, Mic and wire for the mic. Once you have the parts and install you will need to code the Bluetooth function.

Sorry to drag up an old thread but i have the same level of options as you and was wondering how you got on with adding bluetooth?
I'm wanting to get rid of the parrot installation and use the OEM controls for calls. Cheers. |
