BMW e92 reverse camera
I bought a reverse camera system off eBay, and struggling to fit the supplied connector harness/multi plug which connects between the bmw harness and back of CD player/radio, there is now a big multiplig connector which is in the way of pushing the cd/radio back into position, it can’t seem to be located anywhere else due to the length of flying leads.
I can’t seem to locate this multiplug! Has anyone else had a similar issue with the Emtronika reverse camera kit? Last edited by Bmw330; 01-05-2019 at 01:50 PM.. |

I have fitted a reverse camera to my E90 too. Had a similar issue where the HU would not go back in but it did eventually.
It's very tight behind the HU, just kept persevering and moved the wiring to the side. |

The bmw harness appears to be quite stiff, did your multiplug sit off to the side of the head unit then or directly behind?
Im going to try again tomorrow, if the connector harness was a little longer then you could tuck it easily out of the way. Rather annoyingly as I tried so many times to get the HU in/out I managed to scratch my gearshift surround, another £45 for a new one! |

Directly behind. The harness went between the HU and the original plug.
Why did you got for the Emtronika over this? https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1005301 |

Is that all that’s needed?, bugger! That option looks to have no large multiplug, although does require some splicing.
If I can’t get this one to fit then it will be going back! |

Emulator and camera. Installed it a few years ago and cost me around £75 all in. Worked first time and has been working spot on since.
The only thing it doesn't give you is the dynamic lines which is fine. |

A bit of a long shot but do you know if you get an aftermarket reverse kit (which looks to be almost identical in parts to the individual items purchased to do the retrofit as the links) can you code and get the oem layout menu?

I think it depends on the kit. Worth trying it as it only takes 5 mins to code.

Sending the ‘kit’ back now so can look into buying the individual bits :
Just looking at the emulators from eBay, found these two, one is from the autofocustec (as the one most people have used) and the other from another seller which seems to imply it’s a new version? Emulator : 232915726767 -£53 281474834192 -£42 Did you use any of these and has it been ok, reading through the 35 pages it appears some have had a few issues .... |
