As Usual, steering wheel lock stops car from starting.
I'm in deep Doo Doo
due to drive to Gatwick tomorrrow, i've had this issue for a while, the yellow steering wheel with wiggly arrow above, did loads of research, decided to buy emulator, waited for car to work then put it in, WOW all seemed well, then the bleeding yellow wheel returned, DAM, did more research and realised i needed to reset the ELV counter. so built up a laptop, installed all tools and bought cable, I'm trying to reset them but the car is in the locked state. Nothing seems to work, Should i only reset elv when there is no lock present. Should i remove the emulator and plug it back in before running tool32 as i said, driving to Gatwick tomorrow so any help would be Very Gratefully appreciated.... Rich |

Sorry if im too late!
I recently experienced the yellow wheel of doom with the padlock of pain myself!
it left my stranded in a supermarket and I had to call the AA chap who believed it was due to a low battery which later proved incorrect. in my case the ELV itself was not faulty and (god knows why) the counter was also not the issue. it turned out to be a faulty comfort access module which was causing the car to enter a state of unlocked but locked at the exact same time (what on earth!) which disabled the terminal 15 on the CAS. do you have comfort access on your model? what is your battery voltage like? have you tried the counter reset via CAS.prg in toolset32?

also...
just noticed you have an emulator, depending on how that works I would assume it's counter cannot increase?!?
might be worth reconnecting the ELV module to reset then installing the emulator again?
