I will try shifting a bit sooner next time I go. I managed a 12.22@111mph shifting at 5600 and held 4th gear through the finish. Maybe I can get a 12.1 or even a 12 flat.....

You don't want to see timing corrections. "Cyl* Timing cor." is the parameter for timing corrections. You only have one large correction on cylinder 6. For the most part this looks pretty good. If you click on "Timing cyl. 1 *crk" you will see the actual degree of timing you're hitting. Most people on this platform run between 5 and 13 degrees of timing advance. Your tune will have timing targets that it will hit unless another factor such as knock or IATs pulls timing. High boost and high timing will yield the most power. The more boost and timing you run though the more octane you need to prevent knock. I would make sure that most of your logs have no timing corrections before looking to increase timing a little bit more. You are pretty much at the limit for the stock turbo so you only have room to increase timing.

Yeah I got another map for increased timing which I'm gonna use with e85 and 105 octane next time I go to the track, with increased timing and higher octane, I'll be minimizing timing corrections and ultimately yield more power, i should target 11.8-12.0 with a good 60 ft

It looks like someone got some video footage from on of my runs at import faceoff this year. I spun on this run and ran 12.14 @ 120 mph. I will see if I can find my time slip when I get home. The guy in the Subaru came up to me after the race and said "I thought I had you." I laughed and told him I was racing the clock, not him. All of my runs were over 1 second reaction times as I was waiting for boost to build at the line. Pretty cool to watch me run him down though.

TCD,

Great time for N54! This thread is focused on the N55 times, just don't want to confuse anyone.

I'm trying to make it out to my local track to get a baseline before the PS2 install this winter.

Made it to the track, really not impressive. Best pass was 13.1 @ 107 MPH. It was 42 degrees out and the prep sucked from the cold. First and Second gear were just obliterated no matter how soft I left the line.

Link to slip since I can't attach it to post:

My buddy's N54/DCT swapped E91 on MHD 2+ was doing about the same. I think he managed a 13.4 @ 107 for reference. Go michigan! Last week it was 75 and sunny, now it was 26 degrees this morning.

How did you launch?[/QUOTE]

yes, probably not very well. I could only run those 2 passes as there were tons of people there, and one had a breakdown on the track so some extensive track clean up and prep afterwards.

I think I left the line somewhere between 1500 and 2000 rpms. the second run (12.91) I broke loose hard going into 2nd.

Any pointers?

I'm trying to learn from you actually My best run was 13.4 but it was mid June in Cali. I one pressed DTC and braked and gassed up to 2.5 - 3k rpm and then floored it.

I am kind of nervous of fully disabling DTC but if it results in better times ...

I completely disabled dynamic traction control otherwise it cuts power as you break loose.

I found somewhere between 1500 and 2000 was good. last fall same track similar climate conditions I was launching higher, around 2500-3000 and blowing the tires loose. I've actually heard of guys just flooring it off the line, no power braking at all and somehow getting into the 12s. I was gonna try that but it was taking too long to get runs in.

I also just had street tires, 255/35 r18 toyo extenza hp II. only 8k miles on them. psi on them was at like 40-45, way too high, second run lowered them to 30. probably could go lower but it might throw a low tire psi warning limiting speed (?).

anyway, I think it's like anything else, gotta practice a lot under the same conditions.

Don't be. Press and hold then enjoy.

When I had the stock turbo on my 335i I also did 2.0 60 foots by launching in second gear and only revving to about 1,500rpm. I typically ran 12.8 @ 111-112 but had a couple 12.6's.

Yes! Finally broke 12s even though this with the one pressed DTC. No burnout before, just held around 1k rpm and then ease into it and then floored it. 35 psi on street tires, low 70s outside.

Heat soak from staying in long lines but still managed 12.9s later on

Cali 91 with 4 gal e85 for MHD E30.

Gotta get down how to burnout, my attempts were embarrassing

Congrats on the 12 second run! You really need to fully disable the traction control. I promise you will not spin sideways and hit the wall from your launch. On street tires you don't need to do a legitimate burnout. Ideally you want to spin slightly to dislodge any rocks that might be on the tire in the burnout box and that's it.

Oops yeah I meant to add that later on I did fully disable it for my last 2-3 runs. It seemed to hook pretty well but my 60' was still 2.2~ and I ran the 12.9s. Should I launch at a higher RPM? Maybe idling in the long lines created a lot of heat soak too
