Hello all -

I just installed a set of Macht Schnell spacers on my 2009 E90 LCI (with sport package). It has stock shocks and springs. I am also using the stock 189 wheels. I am running 12mm spacers in the rear and 5 mm spacers on the front. I am getting a small vibration on my steering wheel which I believe is caused by the 5mm spacers on the front wheels. Has anyone run 5mm spacers on a E90 with 189 wheels in the front? I know about the BMW hubcentric wheels - is it an issue using 5mm spacers? I am going to take the wheels and spacers off again and give it another clean and see what happens. I am also using the extended wheel bolts that came with the spacer kit.s

The spacer may not have seated properly. Make sure you check that there are no gaps where the spacer mates to the hub. Also, you may just have an out of balance tire...seems obvious, but I've experienced the same issue and thought it was the spacer as well.

Go with 10 or 12mm spacers up front.

Yes. 5mm covers too much of the hub lip so the wheel can't seat perfectly. There are three ways you can get a perfect fit that won't vibrate.

1. Add hub extenders.

2. Use 10mm spacers (assuming no rub on the fender) and file the hub lips to less than 10mm so the spacer fits completely over them.

3. Use 12mm spacers.

As stated in the previous posts, make sure the hub is clean and that the spacer is seated properly on the hub. An unbalanced tire would also cause the vibration.

This^^

As you probably know, rust and brake dust gets built up around your brakes and hub. Use a metal brush and clean it up a bit before installing the spacer.

this. manufacturers can say that 5mm spacers wont vibrate all they want, but on this car, there is not enough of the hub for the wheel to properly stay secured without vibration.

ive cleaned the HELL out of the mounting face and they still vibrate. ive had a mechanic from a top shop in houston install them (took his time for 30 minutes) and still couldnt get rid of the vibration. this is using MS and turner 5mm spacers.

without hub lips, the vibration will be there. bottom line imo

I agree with you Kenny Powers - I cleaned the hell out of the hub and tried to install twice but still got a vibration. Screw I'm just going to run no spacers in the front and run 12mm in the rear.

You'd be fine with 12mm up front as well

Or even 10MM up front - the MS 10mm spacers have lips, I'm running them on the front of my car with aftermarket wheels and no vibes.
