Help with Front License Plates and ED Bracket

So i did a search and still can't figure out the answer to my question... Here is the story.

When I dropped off the car in Munich, Thomas (mada) took off the front EU plate and gave it to me. The plate was mounted on a US bracket ( i think ) as seen in the picture below. He left the US bracket on.

(i tried to highlight the US bracket in red since the picture is not very clear. )

In addition to bringing back the front EU plate with me, i also brought the first aid kit. I also noticed another smaller bracket (pictured below) in the trunk so i decided to bring that along. It is for the rear and i am wondering if it can be used for the front? anyone has experience with this?

So what are you trying to do?
The bracket that you have is designed so that your smaller US plate won't rattle and scratch your trunk lid. The front is already made so it won't do that. What would be the point of putting it on the front?

By the way did you take your triangle with you from your ED?

I saw a post a while ago where you can use the screw for towing in the front for the front plate. i believe it was a mini add-on. You might want to check some of the threads about not drilling into bumpers.
