No one is in the clear. Did you get a letter brother? If not, there is a way to check your VIN online. Doz, what was that link?

Is this a pricey fix? I might just buy the bolt and have someone do it for me

Get it done at the dealer for free under recall brother- make sure you print out a copy of that page from your browser.

Feel free to PM me your location- I know JMK in Springfield New Jersey will do it for you and they have parts in stock.

I can't tell you for fact that they won't give you a hard time, but I don't see it happening- it's a factory critical recall and they must replace it under warranty.

I have a Dinan stage III flash, intercooler, oil cooler, a strut brace, a BMS intake, Alpina trans flash, and a shit load of other aftermarket stuff and they said nothing LOL

Are you any closer to Ramsey New Jersey or closer to Springfield?

I took my jb4 out bef I got the bolts done on Thursday. it's a hassle but at least I don't have to worry about them giving me shit if something else goes wrong in the future. just installed the chargepipe and bms intake too so we'll see how the engine holds up!

Closer to spring field. One of the SA there-Mike knows i have a DP and jb4 hasnt said anything about it and i went into service with them installed. But he doesnt know that im actually FBO+stage 1 turbo and forge DV which when you open up the hood first thing you see is a random hose and solenoid just sitting in front of the engine bay..

Mine is sure on the list. My problem is that the car is exported to Jamaica from the USA. Local dealers wont honor the warrant obviously. So I need to know how I can buy these bolts and pay for install......
Any word on part number?

After reading this post here which brought this issue to my attention. I checked my VIN on the website and confirmed that my car is part of the recall. All I did after that is call my local dealer. They asked for my last 7 of my VIN to confirm and they scheduled an appointment. They kept my car for 2 days and I just got it back today. All good now.

I'm glad I could help. Total, I have no idea how something like that would work but every call is a recall the matter what country you're in I suppose.

Garage List
Got the recall done today! Drives no differently than it did before (not that I was expecting it to). Dropped the car off this morning and got it back after work today.

Something potentially interesting though were the parts listed on the work order:
Qty 8 - Part #11-36-8-602-263 - Description: ISA Screw
Qty 1 - Part #11-12-7-587-804 - Description: Profile-Gasket

Others had reported that they replace the entire VANOS unit or something of the sort, but it appears here they replaced just the bolts and a gasket.

Work order description:
Customer States: Complete recall campaign 14V-176: Replace VANOS Gear bolts. Over time the VANOS assemblys (their spelling, not mine) gear bolts may come loose and the VANOS adjustment units may develop internal oil leakage. Replaced the VANOS adjustment unit --bolts only--for intake and exhaust sides.

Using just the part numbers above, it may be possible to do the work yourself if you're able to order the parts. However, I cannot encourage it and would only tell you to do so at your own risk, yadda yadda all that other fun disclaimer stuff, but I do mean it.
