Talking muffler delete 328i?

so now that my car has been fixed and has a new engine installed, Im planning on finally doing a muffler delete after 6 months of owning the car. I currently live in California and if any other N52 owners have a muffler delete can you please let me know the cost and also what you think about it? I was looking into just deleting the muffler and adding burnt tips. If you can provide pictures or video!

On N52 it's not a pleasant sound. There's a few examples on Youtube.

I also have an N52. Before installing my PE I test drove it with the old muffler off. It was awful. Drone so hard I couldn't think straight. Volume is not everything. You want a nice sound. Many would agree with me that the PE is the best n52 exhaust but it is pricey. A good compromise would be the AA muffler. If you want even more volume you could do secondary cat delete.

To me it sounds good. I have a 328XI with muffler and resonator delete. I don't really deal with drone like that unless I'm flooring it. But when coasting nothing. I don't really mind drone though. But I get a lot of pops and it's not to loud and not ricey. I wanna make it louder but don't wanna fuck it up

Don’t do it....sound will be god awful. Save a few bucks and do it right.

I recommend the AA Gen2 axel back, small muffler and drone chamber. Worth every penny.

It’s a BMW not a Honda Civic. Respect the brand. You will thank us all later.

The Active Autowerke exhaust sounds great! If you want something cheaper just replace the stock muffler with a Magnaflow or Borla. I haven't heard Borla on these cars yet but read that it drones a bit less than the Magnaflow.

Some of us are ok with ghetto. I love the delete mods. This car is too pretentious for me anyway

Kind of a dead thread, but I was doing a lot of reading on the subject from multiple threads before deciding on the muffler delete for my n52 e92, so I'm posting this to hopefully make someone else's decision easier. For under $150 (with new tips), I am very glad I decided to do this, not too loud at all, very minimal additional cabin noise (mostly heard on drivers side). Yes, it isn't as refined of a tone when compared to the PE or similar, but it is a very nice deep tone that will give you a few pops and gurgles, without sounding like your neighbors slammed civic. All in all, go for it. If you absolutely hate it, you can always spend another $70ish to have them put your stock muffler back on.
