With E90's high compression engine, you're suppose to use 91+ octane. You can still use 87 or 89, since the knock sensor will retard timing to accomandate for lower grade fuel

Piece of mind now rather than worry about potential problems later on

I'm a Chevron Techron whore. No matter which car I'm putting gas in, it's always to a Chevron I go. And most parts of S. CA, the highest octane available is 91. I've seen the random 93 octane here and there, but those are far and few between.
Could always go to the local raceway and get 101 Octane..probably be just burning gas/money though. ________ Two and a half men forum Last edited by HappyG; 05-17-2011 at 02:07 AM.. |

91 only (highest possible in the area)!
It always makes me mad when I see a person that has a car (esp. a BMW) that requires 91 and they are putting in 87. And they don't realize they are robbing their car of power and gas mileage. Another reason not to buy a used car. |
