Question Code P1434

Hi all,

Last night after I started the car the half engine light came on. The car was still running ok at that time. No noises or shaking. I shut the car off and turned it back on. Half engine light did not come back on. I got a code of P1434 this morning after checking it with my friends OBD reader.

Another thing. About 4 days ago I put the car back to all stock. DCI and Procede is out. I have a service appointment tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure that the code you read is a valid or accurate given the generic code reader device you used. You'll have to read the code with a BMW specific tool. One option is to hook the procede back up and read the code. Either that or find someone local with a BT tool.

I thought about putting it back in today but I just did not have the time. One reason I took it out 4 days ago just for tomorrows appointment. Plus I am dropping the car off at 7am

I have this same code, did you ever resolve it? I've been reading forums and they said it may be caused by the fuel cap not being tight after refueling...

I took it to the dealer like I stated on my last post and at that time the code was not there. I never did figure out what that code means but at the same time it has never returned since. Maybe it was what you found by searching. If you ever do find out for sure let me know so I can add it to my list. Sorry I could not be more of a help.
