I just bought a cobb v2. Installs a stage 2 map and I'm fbo in with vargas stage 2. I have jb4 and left to map 0. Weird thing is whenever I try to log as soon as I hit the gas it tells me to check cable but at idle it doesn't say that. Car had no boost. Uninstalled and map 1 jb4 runs great. Really want to use the cobb for protune but not sure why it won't let me log. Any ideas?

JB4 ISO is not completely pass through even on Map 0. Either log with JB4 or disconnect it to log with AP. Not sure why no boost, might try switching to DME boost control for the time being if you keep the JB4 in. I ran both when I first got my AP, took the JB4 out 2 days later and haven't looked back. You'll definitely want a custom tune with the AP.

Thank you sir. Removed jb4 and installed stage 2+ sport for right now. Has some wastegate rattle but can be tuned out from what I here. Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. Car is much smoother as well. I'll be sticking with cobb.

You think that's smooth, try a protune Best $200 you'll ever spend and even smoother! 90% of this community will never stray from the jb and have no idea what their missing...

ATR is an amazing tool, in no way do I minimize pro tuning but it's possible with a lot of research, data logs and ATR to create your own, very efficient powerful maps.

What PSI are you guys hitting with this tune? I'm afraid to floor it...... My car has 87k on the clock and 45k on the turbos. I daily the car and don't want to break anything. Am I pushing it with putting this much stress on the turbos?
Upload your logs. Are you seeing 19.9psi as you're accelerating throughout the midrange, or do you see that number as the max psi once you've slowed down, after an acceleration? When you shift gears, or let off the throttle, the boost will spike as the throttle plate closes (which is why you have diverted valves or blow off valves on turbo charged cars). It is normal to see a few extra psi during this time.

At sea level, you should be running around 18-19psi on Stage 2+ Aggresive. If your elevation is higher, or the air is warmer, and not as dense, it will require a little more boost to reach the requested target load. Our cars do not target a specific boost level, it all depends on the density of the air (temp and elevation).

One more thing to note, is that in sports mode, you will be requesting 100% of the torque (full throttle) once the pedal hits about 50%, so the last half of pedal travel is useless. Move to the linear throttle map to see the difference, or download ATR and create your own like I did, creating something in between the stock and linear throttle feel.

Look at the version of the particular map on ypu AP, and make sure it's the most current one on Cobb's website. The manager will update from time to time, but it doesn't mean there was an update to all the maps. I don't think the stage 1 maps have changed in several years.

There's still a decent bump. I did my DPs last, but got about 25whp at the top end, got quicker throttle response and much faster turbo spool. Plus it sounds deadly! Lol

I agree that the FMIC is the weakest link in the chain. If it's 80 degrees outside, the stock IC is so inefficient that the DME will be pulling timing like crazy, actually robbing you of HP, regardless of what boost you run.

I keep doing that, but when I go full throttle I get half engine light and car drives weird. Fuel pump already changed at bmw. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Why not email PTF? It could be anything from boost leaks to coils plugs to needing a touchup in the map. That code 2AAF is benign though and safe to ignore. That won't cause a check engine light or your car to drive weird.

Flash back to a Cobb tune and run it hard. If you get no codes, its the tune that causing the code and it needs to be revised.

What other codes are you getting? The fuel pump plausibility code will not trigger the half engine light. I've had the fuel pump code since I originally got my Cobb and went stage 1, now it's 3 years later and I am FBO and have a pro tune. Code has been there all the time, and I've had no issues.

Who did your pro tune? The answer should be Jake from PTF/Motiv, and no one else. Try going back to a Cobb map and see if the car still has problems and other codes, but we can't help you unless we get more info.

What map? What mods? What error codes? It could be one of a thousand things, but we can't help you unless you provide some information....

No, that is not normal. Strange that you're not getting any codes, or CEL. Best bet is to try and capture logs when it's happening, and post them up here, or send them to Cobb's support group. The logs will show why and what's happening.

You need to get this resolved with your tuner, as they would know best how to resolve your issue unless its strictly hardware related

If they can't resolve the issue, and its not hardware related, then let me know, BuraQ@mybmw335is.com but first give them a chance to correct the problem, sometimes one fix may not do it, and it may take multiple fixes
